One of Germany's most successful pop singers during the 1970s and '80s, Howard Victor Carpendale was born on January 14, 1946 in Durban, South Africa. Howie, as he is affectionately known, was working as an Elvis impersonator when he relocated to Europe in 1966, settling first in the U.K. He moved to Germany in 1969 when he was offered a recording contract with Electrola Records, having success right out of the gate that year on the German pop charts with a cover of the Beatles' "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da." Carpendale was unable to follow up on that success, however, and his stay with Electrola was over by the early '70s.

In All of Us, Howard’s sonic compositions become a musical language through which he responds to the calamities and destruction of the contemporary world — not reflecting or mirroring them, but speaking to them and illuminating the aural sensations they produce. There are moments in All of Us where it’s clear that Howard has scored music for films, with sweeping orchestral crescendos that could be used to mark visual denouements in works of combat cinema (for example, in the fourth track An Hour Off For Friendship). Yet largely, the tracks are bound by their collective sense of unease and our shared sense of precarity.

Cherry Red Records is both delighted and proud to announce the newly remastered and expanded release of Howard Jones third long player album "One To One". Released in October 1986, "One To One" was produced by the legendary producer Arif Mardin and saw a change in Howard's writing and musical style. The album reached No. 10 in the UK Album Charts selling over 100,000 copies and achieving Gold status. It contained three tracks that were released as singles in the UK: 'All I Want' peaked at No. 35, 'You Know I Love You… Don't You?' at No. 43 and 'Little Bit Of Snow' at No. 70.

Between 1994 and 1996, Edsel released eight full-length CDs of Marc Bolan's previously unreleased home demos, alternate takes, unused and abandoned songs, and unfinished recordings. These CDS were deleted in 2001. In late 2010, all eight discs were re-issued in a limited edition deluxe case bound book package. Unavailable since then, these intriguing recordings are now repackaged for a new legion of Bolan fans. The eight CDs collect 184 Marc Bolan and T. Rex performances, recorded during the 1970s. Some, in a near-finished state, failed to make the final cut. Many others, ranging from spur-of-the-moment home demos to alternate studio takes and jams, were simply abandoned. All were unreleased at the time of Bolan's death in 1977.
