The most basic compilation for American audiences interested in Pete Namlook's Fax Records is a two-disc set including tracks from Namlook guises Air, the Putney, 4Voice and Shades of Orion. A host of other Fax favorites make appearances: Plastikman's Richie Hawtin on the epic From Within track "Sad Alliance," Deep Space Network and Dr. Atmo on I.F.'s "Kisy Loa," Atom Heart and Tetsu Inoue on their Datacide track "Data Haku." Fax is easily the most traditional-sounding ambient label, and the music would make an equally strong impression on fans of Hearts of Space and Basic Channel.

Eco Zen (2005). Eco-Zen is all about re-connecting with the world around us. Promoting the challenging message that for too long we’ve been over-stimulated, blinded and numbed by a frenetic swirl of images and messages that assault us everywhere we go in our daily lives. We’ve switched off that magical part of us that connects us to the greater consciousness, that little part within us all that unites us with every other person around us – humanity. Inspired by the desire to awaken our senses through thoughtful and beautiful music from all over the globe Eco-Zen sets out to shake us from our reverie, to ignite that spark within each of us…
Highly inventive English psych-prog outfit, the members of which are completely unknown, with top-notch performances all around for their only 1971 album originally on Vertigo (IBC studios), re-released on Shadoks. The sound reminds of American proto-proggers Touch but with superior musicianship and studio know-how. 'The Image Maker vol. 1&2' is a colorful and beautifully produced mix of heavy organ riffs, fuzz guitar, bass, drums, horns, assorted instrumentation and noises, and centers around a century of English war experience. It is a true missing artifact of progressive psychedelic rock and is one of the first examples of a fully realized theatrical concept record. A long-lost beauty, this monumental but completely unidentified relic is finally unearthed and available from Shadoks Music. Highly recommended, and mandatory for Prog and Psych historians.
