In our everyday conceptions we use the laws of nature with their enormous possibilities of technical progress for the benefit of mankind. The catastrophes of Chernobyl (1986), Fukushima Daichii (2011) and in the Gulf of Mexico, explosion of the drilling platform Deepwater Horizon (2010), have shaken this world's view. Is it a matter of human or technical failure?

The Chernobyl disaster on 26 April 1986 is considered the worst nuclear accident in mankind's history – both in terms of casualties and costs. It has impacted the world forever. Many have seen the fictional account. But the true story is even more complex, more human and more shocking than we could ever have imagined.

Chernobyl 7991 is the eighth album of the Jazz fusion band Area and was released in 1997. This is the first album in 17 years, and Area had been in hiatus from 1983 to 1993. They first reunited as a trio consisting of Fariselli, Capiozzo and Tavolazzi. Tavolazzi, after the first shows, left the band in order to pursue other projects. Much like the previous studio album "Tic&Tac" from 17 years earlier, this album is much more of a jazz/fusion product than Area's classic sound. This is the only album with bass player Paolo dalla Porta, who replaced Tavolazzi.

Cardinal struggles to right past wrongs that could derail his investigation and end his career, as the case grows more violent and twisted, and the clock ticks down on the killer's next victim.

Centers on the titular holistic detective who investigates cases involving the supernatural. Based on the “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency” novel series, written by Douglas Adams and published by Simon and Schuster in 1987.
