Tiago Lageira was 15 when he moved to the Netherlands from Portugal. His cradle was in Sines, also the birthplace of the famous Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama.

Following the success of her singles ‘Get What U Get’ and ‘Flower Through Concrete,’ pianist, composer, and producer Chloe Flower — whose sensational appearance with Cardi B stole the show at the 2019 Grammy Awards — has announced the release of her self-titled debut album on Sony Music.

Marking the 150th anniversary of Ravel’s birth, this recording celebrates his enduring legacy with a stunning interpretation of Daphnis et Chloé.

After twenty years at the centre of the electronic scene, the enigma that is Chloé still stands. While Chloé has long transcended her image as the “DJette” behind legendary club night Pulp, headlining the Rex as well as clubs and festivals throughout Europe, Endless Revisions represents yet another deviation from rigid genre classification, deepening the often-linear perspectives on current music. A rich and multi-faceted work, the artist’s captivating third album drifts from one mystery to the other, harkening back to philosopher Theodor W. Adorno’s maxim: “the task of art today is to bring chaos into order.”

Ravel’s early masterpiece, Daphnis et Chloé, was commissioned by Serge Diaghilev for his Ballets Russes, and was premièred in the Théâtre du Châtelet in July 1912. Described by Ravel as a ‘symphonie chorégraphique’ (choreographic symphony), the work was performed just twice in that 1912 season, and was given only three more performances the following year. Press reaction was muted, and it is now much more often performed as a concert work than as a ballet.

R&B duo Chloe X Halle have dropped their debut album The Kids Are Alright. Stream the 18-track project below via Spotify and Apple Music. The Kids Are Alright is the follow-up to their 2017 mixtape The Two Of Us and is released on Beyoncé's Parkwood Entertainment label. The sisters are currently appearing on Black-ish spin-off Grown-ish, a show for which they recorded the theme tune. "Grown" appears on the record as does the previously heard title track.

Composed for Sergey Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes, Ravel’s ‘symphonie chorégraphique’ Daphnis et Chloé is based on a classical Greco-Roman love story set on the island of Lesbos.

In early 2011, Flower was discovered by producer Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds before signing to the Island Def Jam Records department, Sodapop. Her album, categorized as Contemporary Instrumental, will be executive produced by Edmonds and feature spoken word by author and public speaker, Deepak Chopra. Later that year, Flower opened the North American tour for Italian operatic pop trio, Il Volo.
