Storyteller is the first new studio album in over five years from Norwegian/Irish duo Secret Garden.
On the day of release (26 April 2019), Fionnuala Sherry and Rolf Løvland have this to say in their newsletter:
“Even though we had great success and response to our “Just the Two of US” album (one of our favourites ), “Live at Kilden” and “You Raise Me Up: The Collection”; “Storyteller” is very special and means so much to us both. From the initial concept of the album to the final mix, its been a truly wonderful journey of writing, arranging, recording, producing and working with some of the most wonderful incredible artists including the incredible Czech National Symphony Orchestra. We have traveled between Norway, Ireland, the UK and the Czech Republic to produce “Storyteller”…
Secret Oyster became somewhat of a super group when members of Burnin Red Ivanhoe, Coronarias Dans and Hurdy Gurdy formed this unit. All four original albums have received a thorough and outstanding remastering with added bonus tracks on the great label Laser's Edge. Secret Oyster got back together (Bohling, Vogel and Knudsen plus a new bassist and drummer) during the re-issues of their albums, touring the states and Denmark.
Manchester jazz-funkers Secret Night Gang bring their bold self-titled debut album to Brownswood Recordings. Led by the soulful vocals of Kemani Anderson and featuring saxophonist Callum Connell’s pin-sharp orchestrations, Secret Night Gang is a joyful slice of summer-soul goodness that nods to the vibrant history of jazz-inflected soul, while reflecting today’s genre blending sensibilities in a heady mix of gospel, R&B, souljazz and more.
"The Lost Box" is the last the album of Swedish pop/new wave band Secret Service, popular in the early 1980s. Disk contains unreleased songs by the Secret Service. "There are many more forgotten songs to be completed. Some very old and some not more then 15-20 years old. All together they are The Lost Box!" A must have for all Secret Service fans!
Formed more than twenty years after departing another band he formed (The Enid), Francis Lickerish is back with another talented assemblage of musicians with classic and folk roots, fertile imaginations and an abundance of mature talent. Secret Green has hit the ground running with the well-formed studio release 'To Wake the King' and a live show lineup that features both original material as well as Enid standards. The band's melodic, sometimes medieval instrumental arrangements as well as the angelic vocals of Hilary Palmer make for a rich musical experience.
