Anatol Ugorski — "Anatol Ugorski - The Complete Recordings On Deutsche Grammophon" - Technical perfection, musical intelligence and courage are the hallmarks of Anatol Ugorski’s personality. Since his meteoric rise to fame in the 90’s, Ugorski’s interpretations, informed by his personal beliefs have stimulated discussion around the performer’s relationship with the score. Now his complete recordings on Deutsche Grammophon are presented together for the first time, including the first international release of his Scriabin Sonatas 2, 3, 5 & 9 as well as rare Chopin recordings.

In anticipation of his 75th birthday in 2017, this luxurious 55-CD set presents Pollini's complete recordings on DG with their original covers, including the first ever release of Prokofiev's Third Piano Concerto with the NHK Symphony Orchestra under Maxim Shostakovich (recorded in 1974). Also included are a 200-page booklet and 3 bonus DVDs: concerto recordings with Böhm and Abbado as well as Bruno Monsaingeon's documentary film De main de maître (2015).

Purcell, Vivaldi, Handel, Bach, Haydn and Mozart are the focus of the repertoire. Numerous recordings such as the Brandenburg Concertos, Corelli's Concerti Grossi or the symphonies of William Boyce are among the milestones of recording history. A Bach album from the ensemble's early days is released for the first time on CD, as well as the never-published Dead March from Handel's "Saul". The Amadeus were the most successful and highly-regarded Quartet of the 20th century. Benefitting from the jet aeroplane and from the record industry s ability to reach out to world, they dominated chamber music making for nearly 40 years. But concert tours are only successful if reviews are ecstatic and audiences delighted. They both were. For nearly 40 years, the Quartet (who styled themselves The Wolf-Gang ) roved the world, argued, celebrated and worked like no other group, and changed not a single member: Norbert Brainin, Siegmund Nissel, Peter Schidlof and Martin Lovett had a recording career from 1951 to 1987, ending only with the death of Peter Schidlof in 1987.

The first edition to comprise all of Helmut Walcha's recordings on Archiv Produktion, Deutsche Grammophon and Philips. Commemorating the 30th anniversary of Walcha's passing (11 August), it includes both the stereo (1956-1971) and the mono cycles (1947-1952) of Bach's complete works for organ; harpsichord recordings consisting of the Well-Tempered Clavier and the Violin Sonatas BWV 1014-1019 with Henryk Szeryng, the latter originally issued on Philips; plus other organ works from the early North German repertoire, including Bruhns, Scheidt, Buxtehude, and Sweelinck. The mastermind of Walcha's recordings was legendary producer Erich Thienhaus, a prolific recording producer and progenitor of the Tonmeister profession itself.
