2017 four CD set anthologizing all the recordings made by the legendary Stray for Transatlantic Records between 1970 and 1974. Formed in 1966 by West London musicians Del Bromham (lead guitar, vocals), Steve Gadd (vocals), Gary Giles (bass) and Steve Crutchley (drums). Crutchley soon departed the band and was replaced by Richie Cole. By August 1968 and whilst aged only 15 or 16 years old, they had begun to make a name for themselves on the Underground music scene in London, performing at legendary venues such as The Roundhouse and Middle Earth.
You can give ‘Stevie Nicks: In Your Dreams’ this much: From the start, you know what you’re in for. The documentary opens with almost three minutes of people talking about how much they love the singer and what a genius she is. What else do you need to know? At this point in Nicks’ career, we should expect a certain amount of veneration from a movie about her. She’s an established artist with nothing to prove, and a film like this is pretty much made for fans who are already 100 percent on board with the singer. Still, she and the filmmakers could have used that security to provide a peek into Nicks’ creative process.
"Stick It In Your Ear" is the solo and recording debut of Paul Laine (ex: Danger Danger), originally released in 1990, one of the best, and most overlooked, albums of the early '90s melodic rock genre. "Stick It In Your Ear" is a perfect example of the melodic rock sound at the end of the '80s. You can hear the influence of classic AOR bands like Journey and Loverboy as well as the hair metal sound of Poison and Winger, and considered by both press and fans of the genre a classic AOR album and one of the greatest ever. This reissue (+ 4 bonus tracks), and the remastering sounds excellent, it's certainly a lot louder and brighter than the original release.
Digitally remastered and expanded two CD edition of the 1988 sophomore album from the British Pop/Soul vocalist. Rick Astley followed his first album with two more Top 5 singles, 'She Wants to Dance with Me' and 'Take Me to Your Heart', both included on his second album. The title track was also a Top 10 single. This expanded edition features bonus non album tracks plus a multitude of remixes of the album's singles. The booklet features full annotation by Tom Parker as well as the singles sleeves.
Official Release #55. This two-CD set is the second of three albums of material Frank Zappa compiled from the 1988 tour. While Broadway the Hard Way (released in 1988) mostly presented the new songs performed during that tour, this set focuses on older songs (Make a Jazz Noise Here would contain mostly instrumental pieces). This is the best band you never heard in your life because the 12-piece group disintegrated after only four months of touring through the U.S. East Coast and Europe. These shows took place during the Jimmy Swaggart scandal, when the televangelist was caught with a prostitute.
