Blank & Jones hit double figures with their long running SoEighties series, with the announcement of so80s 10, another three-disc compilation of extended versions of from the best decade in pop, the 1980s. The tenth edition in this series contains over 30 remixes including the near 12-minute long version of the Sisters Of Mercy This Corrosion, Pat Benatar’s Love Is A Battlefield, and Laura Branigan’s Self Control. Sade make a rare outing on a remix compilation with the extended version of Sweetest Taboo, and the Pet Shop Boys‘ Love Comes Quickly, which somehow peaked at a lowly number 19 in the UK back in the day, is included in full-length Shep Pettibone Mastermix guise.

This is part of a series of releases on the Naxos label devoted to the 40 symphonies of Michael Haydn, younger brother of Franz Joseph. These have been commercially successful, and it's easy to see why: there's music of unsuspected high quality here, and you can see why the younger Haydn's work was taken for Mozart's in several cases for decades, and why Mozart, who was spare in his praise of other composers, bestowed it upon this one. All four of these symphonies are in the three-movement form that Mozart had mostly left behind by the late 1770s and 1780s (when the Haydn works were composed), but the individual movements are quite confidently handled, with the elegant but harmonically wide-ranging slow movements perhaps the best of the lot.

The album that was produced with Swen Meyer contains cover versions of artists like Britney Spears, Lana Del Rey, Radiohead, The Verve and many more. Jochen Distelmeyer will promote the album on an extensive tour. Jochen Distelmeyer is a German singer and songwriter. He was born 1967 in Bielefeld, Germany. From 1990 to 2007, Jochen Distelmeyer fronted one of Germany's premiere indie rock bands. Named after a Kafka short story, Blumfeld made music that was experimental, political, and – in contrast to many bands from the same era – performed almost entirely in German.
