One of the great tenor and organ dates cut for RCA in the 60's by the team of Johnny Hodges and Wild Bill Davis featuring performances recorded in 1965. The title is a play on words based on the term "console organ", a term used by the Hammond organ company to describe the type of organs favored by Davis.

These Two albums include the singles "Sho Feels Good To Me", the #1 U.S. R&B chart single "Ffun" and the bands theme song "Confunkshunize Ya", also included as a Bonus Track is the Rare 12 version of "Ffun". Both of these albums were awarded gold status in America. Both albums were produced by Con Funk Shun and on Secrets they were assisted by legendary Soul producer Skip Scarborough. Package includes sleeve notes by Rico Washington with anecdotes from Band member Felton C Pilate II.

One of the most consistent R&B/Funk bands of the 70s and 80s, ConFunkShun, is back in 2015 with its first album after the 1986 release “Burnin’ Love” (there was an additional live album in 1996) which had been recorded without songwriter and singer Felton Pilate who, together with Michael Cooper and Louis McCall, was part of the core members of the group which was founded in 1969 (Felton came on board in 1971). A lot of tensions were the reason for the final breakup and now, original members Michael Cooper and Felton Pilate alongside Karl Fuller, are back with the 2015 edition.

Cuba: Music and Revolution: Culture Clash in Havana: Experiments in Latin Music 1975-85 Vol. 1 is a new album compiled by Gilles Peterson and Stuart Baker (Soul Jazz Records) that explores the many new styles that emerged in Cuba in the 1970s as Jazz, Funk, Brazilian Tropicalia and even Disco mixed together with Latin and Salsa on the island as Cuban artists experimented with new musical forms created in the unique socialist state. The music on this album features legendary Cuban groups such as Irakere, Los Van Van and Pablo Milanés as well as a host of lesser known artists such as the radical Grupo De Experimentación, Juan Pablo Torres and Algo Nuevo, Grupo Monumental and Orquesta Ritmo Oriental, groups whose names remain largely unknown and much of whose music has never been heard outside of Cuba. This album is released in conjunction with Egrem, the Cuban state record company.
