Sonny & Cher's debut album "Look at Us" was released after the duo's single "I Got You Babe" reached number one on both sides of the Atlantic. The album was a hit, peaking at #2 on the Billboard 200, where it stayed for 8 weeks.

"Vitalogy" followed the release of "Vs." a little over a year later on December 6, 1994, and has since gone 4-times Platinum, reaching #1 on the Billboard 200 chart. And now some fifteen+ years later, these seminal records receive the definitive reissue. The album has been completely remastered and now includes three unreleased alternative versions of Pearl Jam classics.

The LSO’s magnificent string sound is world renowned and this recording marks the LSO Live debut of the LSO String Ensemble, led by LSO leader Roman Simovic, who directs a performance of the much loved Tchaikovsky "Serenade for Strings", together with Bartók’s "Divertimento". The Serenade has proved to be one of Tchaikovsky’s most enduringly popular works, a piece he described as being “passionately in love with”. Inspired in part by Mozart, its elegant music weaves Russian folk-song, and a fine example of the composer’s beloved Waltz, with an elegiac musical centrepiece. Also featured on this release is Bartók’s "Divertimento", one of the composer’s last works before leaving Europe for exile in the US. The Divertimento is a highly original work in its own unique idiom, contrasting two buoyant and light-hearted movements with a sombre Adagio in four sections.

Produced by Randall Dunn (SunnO))), The Cave Singers, Earth) with help from drummer Matt Chamberlain (Pearl Jam, Fiona Apple), Boeckner! Is filled with lively, catchy rock that calls to mind The Cars, David Bowie.

This SACD proves that rock can have the realism of classical or jazz, according to the liner notes it was not recorded the way traditional rock music usually is, instead MDG recorded it just as they record traditional classical music. Realism and excitement are here in spades, this is sonically the best sounding recording of the bunch. Not a lot of music as it is also a test record but the music is great. The auduofiles may use this disc as test for their systems; the melomans may use this disc as entertainment.

Iron & Wine’s seventh full-length overall and fifth for Sub Pop Records. Fashioned as an album that should be taken as a whole, it sounds lovingly handmade and self-assured as a secret handshake.
