Crack the Sky is an American progressive rock band formed in Weirton, West Virginia in the early 1970s. In 1975, Rolling Stone declared their first album "debut album of the year", and in 1978, Rolling Stone Record Guide compared them to Steely Dan. Their first three albums charted on the Billboard 200. The band has never achieved great success outside the Baltimore area; despite this, they continue to release albums and perform to a small but devoted fan base to this day.

In 1976 Rolling Stone called prog-rock pioneers Crack The Sky “one of year’s most impressive debuts.” Today, 40+ years later, the band releases a new studio album entitled Tribes, due out early 2021. The title track speaks volumes about modern society’s perpetual cultural divide, wherein each side believes its inalienable right to champion the only opinion that matters.

Today, some 40 years later the band will release a pair of albums: Living In Reverse, a new studio album; and Crackology, a collection of the band’s 12 career favorites, both out August 24, 2018 on Loud & Proud Records.

This is a very good live album from Crack The Sky, with a bunch of songs I had been waiting a long time to hear played with John Palumbo in the band. There is a fair amount of prog here. "From The Greenhouse", "Nuclear Apathy", "Why Me", "The Art Of Wondering", "Ice", "A Sea Epic", "Mind Baby" and a cover of "I Am The Walrus" all fall squarely in that category, while many other songs have some prog elements, especially in the istrumental sections.

Live on WBAB is the first live concert album by American rock band Crack the Sky. The album was released by Lifesong Records (catalog #LS-100) in 1976, but only to radio stations for promotional purposes. It came in a plain white sleeve with only a sticker identifying the record, and photocopied inserts about the band. In 1988, Lifesong released Live on WBAB on CD (catalog #LSCD 8802). It includes four additional tracks, taken from the 1978 LP Live Sky.

Raw, the seventh "proper" album (not counting compilations or live albums) from Crack the Sky, really is more of a John Palumbo solo album under the Crack the Sky banner. Other than Jamie LaRitz playing lead guitar, all of the musical parts were played by Palumbo.

They are one of those bands that deserved more success than they got, but to their credit kept playing in one form or another for many, many years. Alive and Kicking A#@ is an excellent live album featuring most of the original band line up: John Palumbo (guitar/lead vocals), Rick Witkowski (lead guitar/vocals), Joey D'Amico (drums/vocals), Joe Macre (bass/vocals), and Jim Griffiths (guitar/vocals). The show is made up of most of Crack the Sky's most recognizable material and captures their live energy and near-virtuoso playing.

THE END MACHINE are back with their sophomore album, "Phase2," which follows on the heels of their well-received and successful self-titled debut album released in 2018. The End Machine features former classic lineup Dokken members George Lynch and Jeff Pilson with the awesome singer Robert Mason (Warrant, Lynch Mob) on lead vocals. Classic Dokken drummer Mick Brown handled drums on the first album, but is now retired, so in his place behind the drum kit is none other than his brother Steve Brown.

The new record builds on the great bluesy hard rock music of the debut, but sees the band move more towards the classic Dokken sound and the result is a 2.0 reboot of a killer music machine!
