2023 release. Joshua Tree, California. A place where rock 'n' roll mythology is made, for better and worse. It was under these same burnished skies that Gram Parsons' stolen body was set ablaze. Where U2 announced their bid for global infamy. And as Ghalia Volt reminds us, exactly thirty years ago, it was here that near-mythical producer and Queens Of The Stone Age conspirator David Catching founded the fabled Rancho de la Luna studio that would bring a stream of dust-blown musicians to his door like moths to a candle.

A long, long time ago… that’s how a fairy tale about the Swedish band which never joined the first league of fame dominated by their peers Mötley Crüe and Bon Jovi, but which certainly had their share of success back in the ‘80s, should start. And although it could have ended at the point of the group being swept by grunge/alternative wave of the early ‘90s, it seems 220 Volt are eager to write at least one more chapter of the story. Seventeen years after the release of Lethal Illusion, which most probably ended up lost in the mists of time, the Swedes come back with Walking In Starlight.

The legendary Ruf Records showcase tour is now 17 years old, but the concept remains unbeatable and therefore unchanged. Three up-and-coming talents from the most respected blues label in Europe. Three live sets that run the gamut of genres and emotions. And to top it off, a huge jam session where all the artists let loose together - and ask the audience to do the same.
