The 2005 double-disc set Rock of Ages: The Definitive Collection is the second Def Leppard compilation to be released in the U.S. The first, Vault: Def Leppard Greatest Hits, appeared ten years earlier, and while the band was active in the decade separating the two albums, charting fairly consistently, it didn't have any major hits during that time, so the chief appeal of Rock of Ages versus Vault is that it covers more ground. Vault had 15 songs. Rock of Ages has 35, including all of the songs on Vault…

In a career spanning four decades Steveland Judkins Morris has been many things: child star, funk hero, political chronicler, the saviour of Motown Records and depressingly, the instigator of the painfully schmaltzy R&B ballad. Thankfully, this exhaustive "Best Of…", timed to commemorate the 40th anniversary of his first appearance as Little Stevie Wonder, focuses mainly on the 1966-1980 glory years and his transition from incendiary soul man to voice of the 70s.

She is one of the Top Ten charting female country singers of all time, the first to win an American Music Award, the first to headline and sell out Madison Square Garden, and was a regular on TV, starring on broadcasts ranging from The Lawrence Welk Show to The Tonight Show to Starsky & Hutch. Now, Real Gone Music is proud to present a collection that finally does justice to the superstar career of Lynn Anderson: 40 tracks, 38 hits, her classic Chart and Columbia sides, lovingly remastered by Vic Anesini at Battery Studios. The Definitive Collection starts with her first hit, “Ride, Ride, Ride,” and continues with every other notable song, including “Rose Garden,” “You’re My Man,” “How Can I Unlove You,” “What a Man, My Man Is,” “Keep Me in Mind,” “Mother, May I” (with her mother, Liz Anderson), “That’s a No No,” “Cry,” “Listen to a Country Song,” “Fool Me,” and many more hits both major and minor. Great, great ‘70s country from an oft-overlooked artist (why isn’t Lynn in the Country Music Hall of Fame?)!

2014 collection from the Country singer and actor. Billy Ray Cyrus was Country Music's first bona fide hunk-a-billy, gradually shedding himself of the one-hit wonder tag to emerge as one of Nashville's truly original Country talents. Along the way, he has steadfastly refused to be restrained by the Music Row rulebook, recording music very much on his own terms. This has led to be him being shunned by Country radio as he has delivered albums that stand out from the pack. There's a full-circle sense of satisfaction and exuberance in seeing and hearing how Billy Ray Cyrus cemented his standing as one of the modern era's most important, most innovative Country artists. This collection documents that journey encompassing hit singles and important album tracks alike to paint a compelling musical portrait of Billy Ray Cyrus.

Amazon Review by AlanMusicMan
Miller's unique voice seems to me a fascinating blend of cigarette soaked rasp and good-old-boy big-voice manly.
He wrote many of these songs, some of which other people took away and made their own. But what we have here is the best of his output - including those songs that were runaway successes commercially in Europe (King of the road, Little Green Apples etc). I have bought also-ran CDs of Miller's recordings before and some turned out to be the usual pale re-takes, whilst others were collections of his lesser stuff levened with a couple of the hits. This collection is not without clunkers, but for the most part it's his prime material. My favourites? The hits of course, and Engine #9 and the "'comedy' songs such as "My Uncle Use to Love me but She Died" are worth a single listen - though would get old fast! Also, I find myself drawn to his version of Me and Bobby McGee (though Gordon Lightfoot's is always the definitive version of that song for me). If you're only ever going to buy one Roger Miller collection - this one should do you nicely!

M.F.S.B., which stood for Mother, Father, Sister, Brother released seven albums on Philadelphia International but were also the backing orchestra for all the big hits by the likes of the O'Jays, Three Degrees, Billy Paul, Teddy Pendergrass, Lou Rawls and Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes. This package also contains the full-length version of the classic 'Let's Clean Up The Ghetto' which featured all the major artists on the Philadelphia International label, but the driving force behind this hit was defiantly M.F.S.B.'T.S.O.P (The Sound Of Philadelphia)' was the ensemble's first smash hit single, and went to No. 1 on both the R&B & Pop Chart back in 1974, and was adopted as the theme tune to the legendary Soul Train TV Show. The track also featured the Three Degrees on vocals… but it was not to be their only hit single. 'Sexy' was a No. 2 on the R&B chart in the summer of 75. Both 'T.S.O.P.' and 'Sexy' also charted in the U.K. The package also includes the track 'K-Jee' probably best known for it's inclusion on the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack album. Other stand-out tracks are 'Mysteries Of The World', 'Love Is The Message' and 'Dance With Me Tonight' which Robinsongs include here in the rare 12" mix.

Unique 3CD compilation of The Jimmy Castor Bunch. Featuring all of Jimmy Castor’s RnB chart hits. This package is jammed packed full of Funk. With sleeve notes by MOJO and Record Collector journalist Charles Waring.Despite unashamedly injecting an infectious sense of fun and irreverence in his take on funk – as evidenced on early 70s hits ‘Troglodyte (Cave Man)’ and ‘Bertha Butt Boogie’ – Jimmy Castor was a serious musician who more than lived up to his nickname, “The Everything Man”. He could sing as well as play the saxophone, piano, vibraphone, and assorted percussion instruments, and if that wasn’t enough, he was also an accomplished bandleader, arranger and producer.
