Dick Dale was already on the way to a full-scale comeback when Quentin Tarantino's film Pulp Fiction turned Dale's 1962 hit "Miserlou" into a major sensation. But there is much more to the King of the Surf Guitar than one hit, as this definitive anthology amply demonstrates. Better Shred Than Dead features instrumentals that show off Dale's dazzling, percussive technique and Middle Eastern and Latin influences ("Let's Go Trippin'," "Hava Nagila," "Miserlou," "Spanish Kiss") as well as some lesser-known vocal numbers. More recent material is also included, such as his 1987 duet with Stevie Ray Vaughan on "Pipeline," plus material culled from the first two albums of his comeback years and various other sources. Out of Time is the seventh studio album by American alternative rock band R.E.M., released on March 12, 1991 by Warner Bros. Records. With Out of Time, R.E.M.'s status grew from that of a cult band to a massive international act. The record topped the album sales charts in both the U.S. and the United Kingdom, spending 109 weeks on American album charts and enjoying two separate spells at the summit, and spending 183 weeks on the British charts and a single week at the top. The album has sold over four and a half million copies in the U.S. and over 18 million copies worldwide. The album won three Grammy Awards in 1992: one as Best Alternative Music Album, and two for the first single, "Losing My Religion." R.E.M. celebrated the 25th anniversary of their 1991 blockbuster Out of Time by releasing a deluxe edition of the album. This was their first release with Concord Bicycle, who signed a licensing deal for the band's Warner albums in 2015, and it's appropriately splashy: there's a standard double-CD set with a full disc of unreleased material.

Unknown Territory is the 1994 CD by the king of the surf guitar, the late Dick Dale. Special guest is Huey Lewis, who performs the harmonica on two songs. This was released by the Hightone label.

Released in 1992, this is when the band released solo EP's to duplicate the solo albums Kiss did back in 1978 and Crover honored Peter Criss with his EP on the cover but musically, it was all Crover over and over. “Nocturne Serenity” is a welcome return for saxophonist/composer Dale Fielder and his Quartet featuring pianist Jane Getz. It is their first recording since 2019’s “Consensus.” The recording is also subtitled “Saxophone Standards Volume 2,” a follow-up to 2013’s “Saxophone Standards Volume 1,” Fielder’s ongoing life-long project of exploring the American jazz standard tradition. Since 2002, Fielder has primarily played the baritone saxophone. Even though he is photographed on the cover holding a baritone sax, he plays no baritone sax on this recording. Here he plays a strong, impassioned tenor sax on four of the seven tunes; soprano and alto on the remaining three tunes.
