Damien Done is the nom de plume of Damien Moyal, best known as frontman of iconic 90s hardcore punk bands As Friends Rust. Here, Moyal takes a sharp and decided turn from the angst of his past, instead crooning unnerving, voyeuristic tales over bleak numbers that at once touch on the doom and drawl of swampy grunge and the cold, blue sneer of dark 80s pop and post-punk.

The music-centered film tells the story of a young widow who mourns the recent loss of her husband, a talented but reclusive singer/songwriter. An ambitious and persistent New York writer comes to her hometown in rural Maine to investigate his death. The pair slowly falls in love while diving into the musical heritage of the deceased folk singer. This charming film features a beautiful selection of original songs by Seattle-based singer/songwriter Damien Jurado. It also includes a folksy score by composer Daniel Hart (Ain't Them Bodies Saints). Starz Digital is releasing the film on February 12, 2016 just in time for Valentine's Day. The release will combine a theatrical run in the top 50 markets and an aggressive VOD campaign.

Between them they all manage to cook up steamy roots jams that centre the culture with a timeless sound. It's seriously alluring and here without the vocals the whimsical melodies and rolling beats all have even more of an impact.
