Daniel Hunter is an English born, Australian-raised Jazz-guitarist and educator now based in Paris, France. As a performer Daniel has appeared on stage throughout France, Switzerland, Australia, Italy, Germany, Morocco and even Azerbaijan. Following on from his debut album in 2013, aptly named The Twentieth, alluding to his surrounds in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, Refuge's themes span the plight of refugees, the search for shelter, the emotional aftermath of terrorist attack, the snowfalls of European winter, and the French Alps.

“Hunter’s Bride” is a film opera based on the romantic opera “Der Freischütz” by Carl Maria von Weber. Dreams and hopes of young people are told in this exquisite fairy tale. Max and Kaspar, both hunters, fight side by side in the Napoleonic Wars, as well as each other to conquer Agathe’s love. European cultural history becomes visible in an opulent historical panorama and one of the most beautiful pieces of music. The pictures of Norwegian director of photography Harald Gunnar Paalgard give a spatial dimension to the unique sound of the London Symphony Orchestra, which recorded in the legendary Abbey Road Studios. Performed by renowned opera soloists – Juliane Banse, Michael König, Michael Volle, René Pape – the film opera was a huge public success in European theatres. Filmed on 35mm film on original locations in Germany, the film opera dramatises the enchanted tale with stunning images, and surround-sound revives the music for the eyes and the ears of the audience.

John Aylward’s chamber opera Oblivion grapples with issues of remembering, destiny, and self-knowledge. His score for four voices, viola, cello, double bass, electric guitar and electronics is beguiling and mysterious, accompanying the opera’s protagonists through a labyrinthine journey loosely based on Dante’s Purgatory but taking cues from Joseph Campbell and a range of other historic and modern philosophers and theologians. Ultimately, Aylward has created a piece that teems with existential wonder and pathos.

Film, television, and video game music composer Daniel Pemberton got his start in avant-garde and ambient electronic music, influenced as a teenager by statuesque electronic artists such as Jean Michel Jarre, Tomita, and Vangelis. Pemberton began collecting keyboard gear at an early age and wrote a tips column for a video game magazine to earn enough money for increasingly high-end equipment. He also began recording his own compositions, and passed a tape on to Mixmaster Morris at one of his gigs. When word (as well as additional tapes) continued to spread, Pemberton recorded his debut album, Bedroom, which gained release in late 1994 for Pete Namlook's highly collectible Fax Records. The Mixmaster Morris connection also led to work for Coldcut's Ninja Tune label, including a DJ Vadim remix released on the latter's U.S.S.R. Reconstruction LP.
