Chanteur éclectique, David Linx débute très tôt dans le jazz. À moins de vingt ans, ce passionné de James Baldwin forme son premier groupe The Baldwin Project et invite l'écrivain noir américain à lire ses poèmes sur A Lover's Question (1987). D'autres albums suivent avant une association durable avec le pianiste Diederick Wissels à partir de l'album Kamoot (1992). Sous diverses formations à géométrie variable, David Linx collabore avec la crème de la scène belge et prête son bel organe à des projets de Claude Nougaro, Michel Benita, Daniel Yvinec, André Ceccarelli, Khalil Chahine, Jon Hendricks ou Laurent Cugny. Devenu professeur de chant au Conservatoire de Bruxelles, il continue d'enregistrer avec Diederick Wissels et Paolo Fresu (Heartland, 2001), Maria Joao (Follow the Songlines en 2010), ou des big bands de jazz.
