Crackin’ was an R&B group tinged with a little jazz who had four albums in the mid-1970s, three on the Warner Brothers label and one on the Polydor label. Crackin'-1 is the band's debut album released in 1975. Excellent vocal harmonies and sweet grooves dominate here on the album.

The Alessi Brothers is an American pop rock singer-songwriter duo, best known for their 1984 hit "Savin' the Day" and also their 1977 hit "Oh Lori". The duo are identical twin brothers, Bill (Billy) Alessi and Bob (Bobby) Alessi (born 12 July 1953, West Hempstead, New York).

"Totally Hot" is Olivia Newton-John's 9th US and 10th international studio album. Released in November 1978, it became her first solo Top 10 (# 7) album since 1975's "Have You Never Been Mellow". Dressed on the album cover all in leather, Newton-John's transformation in Grease from goody-goody "Sandy 1" to spandex-clad "Sandy 2" emboldened her to do the same with her music. The album's singles "A Little More Love" (# 3 Pop, # 94 Country, # 4 AC), "Deeper Than The Night" (# 11 Pop, # 87 Country, # 4 AC), and the title track (# 52 Pop) all demonstrated a more aggressive and uptempo sound for Newton-John.

Vic Bondi is a singer/songwriter and one of the founding members of political Chicago punk band called Articles of Faith. Bondi was originally a protest singer with decidedly leftist views. He went on to form Alloy, and Jones Very after AoF's demise. At the time of AoF's original breakup Bondi was working as a history instructor at the University of Massachusetts.

John Hiatt One of the best and most respected songwriters of his generation, John Hiatt was a hero among critics and his fellow musicians long before a larger audience discovered his work as a recording artist. Known for lyrics that can turn from acidic wit to bitter self-examination at a moment's notice, Hiatt's work is also dominated by strong, engaging melodies that take rock and blues tropes and reshape them into fresh sounds and the sharp but thoughtful report of his voice. Hiatt's songs have been covered by everyone from Bonnie Raitt, Ronnie Milsap, and Dr. Feelgood to Iggy Pop, Three Dog Night, and the Neville Brothers, and the eclecticism of that list is reflected in Hiatt's own catalog of recordings, which find him exploring folk, rock, pop, R&B, country, and blues influences with equal vigor.

When guitarist, improviser and composer Kim Myhr had an opportunity to collaborate with the never-stagnant Trondheim Jazz Orchestra for the second time, he invited Jenny Hval to join him. He had known her for several years and had wanted for a long time to work together with her.

"Camouflage" is the 10th studio album by funk band Rufus (and their 6th album featuring Chaka Khan), released on the MCA Records label in 1981. "Camouflage" peaked at #15 on Billboard's R&B Albums chart and stalled at #98 on Pop. The album includes the singles "Sharing the Love" (US R&B #8, US Pop #91) and "Better Together" (US R&B #66, US Dance #56). Following the release of "Camouflage", Chaka Khan recorded her 3rd, 4rth and 5th solo albums "What Cha' Gonna Do For Me" (1981), "Echoes of an Era" (1982) and "Chaka Khan" (1982) and Rufus recorded their 3rd album without Khan, "Seal in Red" (1983), before they reunited for one final album together later in 1983, the double live/studio set "Stompin' at the Savoy – Live".
