Justin Hayward's Night Flight was never too impressive in its original LP release – the pressing was noisy and the sound was just different enough from his prior records to be off-putting. The quarter century since its release has allowed the recording to age well; additionally, the 2004 remastered edition finally shows off the finer points of producer Jeff Wayne's approach to serious advantage – the music comes off as lean and spacious, and Hayward's singing displays the power and richness in this reissue to carry the album properly. Additionally, one of the two bonus tracks, a live version of "Forever Autumn" from a concert at San Juan Capistrano, extends the value of the CD considerably, as a previously unreleased version of the song that started Hayward's professional relationship with Wayne and led to the recording of the original LP (in addition to being one of the prettiest songs with which Hayward has ever been associated).

British electronic/new age musician David Wright was born in 1953. He has released numerous records both solo and with the groups Callisto and Code Indigo that display a wide range of influences - he spent his formative years in the Far East. Working primarily in the electronic realm - he founded his own label, AD Music, in 1989 - Wright peppers his impressionistic compositions with rock, jazz, classical, and worldbeat flavors, resulting in an instrumental smorgasbord of diverse moods and colors that has been favorably compared to Kitaro, Mike Oldfield, and Vangelis.

"On the Outside tour, Bowie quietly served as a grounding point for Reznor; he offered, in his music and his performances, the potential of a future. … Bowie and Reznor designed an interim sequence to bridge their sets. There would be no NIN encore. Instead Bowie, then his band, would join NIN on stage, and then NIN would depart, leaving Reznor singing with Bowie's band. The concert featured on this remarkable 2CD set finds the entourage playing at The Riverport Amphitheatre in St Louis, Missouri, on 11th October 1995.
