Dietrich Buxtehude was not only the greatest organ virtuoso of his time and a celebrated composer of both sacred and secular music; he was also a highly enterprising and innovative artist with a unique ability to form networks around himself. This CD, conceived by Theatre of Voices and Paul Hillier, gives a rare insight into the circle around Buxtehude – a musical circle of time, place, friendships, teacher-pupil relationships and even family ties; a network of excellent composers from northern German musician families, all of whom worked in or migrated to Scandinavia in the course of the 1600s.

With the success of Odelay to look at, Beck was now asked to do music for films. "Deadweight" is a song taken from the Odelay recording sessions, and would be a brief pit stop between the Odelay experience and the forthcoming Mutations.

Down in Ocala, Florida, two guitarists met in high school and the seeds of a band were sown. Those friends, Cody Quistad and Seth Blake, recruited singer Briton Bond, bassist Jordan Pierce, and drummer David Rau, forming the band Empires. In 2013, after a change in lineup (Chris Gaylord on bass and Stephen Kluesener on drums), Wage War were born. The melodic metalcore band combined a brutal punch with a positive message, signing with Fearless Records. They recorded their first album, Blueprints, which was released in late 2015.

Not Otherwise Specified began life in 2008 and is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Craig KERLEY, who after a 15 year hiatus has returned to music. Though sometimes aided by guitarist Jason Rowland, It is in reality a solo endeavour, at least for the present. Kersey takes his inspiration from the likes of DREAM THEATER, GENESIS, PINK FLOYD AND SPOCK'S BEARD and released a debut album in May 2011 titled "Judgment". It's a modern sounding prog album blending heavy guitar riffs, sometimes drifting into metal territory with neo prog style keyboards and powerful rock vocals. Later in 2011 NOT OTHERWISE SPECIFIED released their first single, a cover of the GENESIS classic "Dance On A Volcano".

Hymn singing is fundamental in protestant churches, but not normally the subject of an album released worldwide. The musicianship presented here is singular, sung by two volunteer choirs with power and emotion. The inspired arrangements heard on this recording have developed over decades of working with wonderful choirs and congregations, as well as by singing with, and listening to, many inspired colleagues. Some of the descants were conceived for particular services, while other arrangements grew further for special occasions. Several of the brass arrangements were composed for the ordination and consecration of the Rt. Rev. Alan Gates as Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts in 2014.
