We told the first part of the Contours’ story in “Dance With The Contours”, taking it up to the point where, in late 1964, the group members conspired to strike for more pay and better working conditions. Motown got wind of this plan, did a deal with lead singer Billy Gordon and let the other Contours go. “Just A Little Misunderstanding” (an apt description of that event, perhaps) takes the story on from here. A new team of Contours – Alvin English, Jerry Green and Council Gay – were recruited, although English didn’t last long and original member Sylvester Potts was re-enlisted to take his place. The group continued to score hits, with ‘Can You Jerk Like Me’ and ‘First I Look At The Purse’, and had a sure-fire follow-up in the can with ‘Baby Hit And Run’ when Billy Gordon got in trouble with the law and was ousted from the group. Ex-Falcon Joe Stubbs took his place.

Brown is also one of the most influential vocalists among reggae musicians and was noted to be Bob Marley’s favorite singer. His iconic status and pivotal place in the history of reggae music is highlighted by the range of contemporary artists and power in the musical selections on the album. The album blends romantic love songs and ballads with roots and revolutionary songs made famous and (mostly) written by Brown. Dennis Brown was a spokesman for the people of Jamaica and the diaspora and his message is a vital today as when these songs were first recorded. His voice and his music are with us and we remember Dennis Brown.

The keyboardist/vocalist of Chicago-based arena rock band, Styx, Dennis DeYoung continues to cultivate a successful solo career. Recording on his own as early as 1984, DeYoung produced four impressive solo albums – Desert Moon, Back to the World, and Boomchild before reuniting briefly with his former bandmates in 1990. Boomchild is the third solo album from Dennis DeYoung. It was released in February 1989 by MCA Records. Boomchild is DeYoung's first solo album that did not make it on any album charts and its failure caused DeYoung to be dropped by MCA.

Former Styx frontman Dennis DeYoung is back with his sixth original solo studio, album "26 East: Volume 1.” “26 East” was the address where DeYoung grew up in Roseland on the far south side of Chicago. This is where Styx was formed in his basement in 1962. Across the street lived the Panozzo twins, John and Chuck, who along with DeYoung would go on to form the nucleus of the band. The cover artwork features three locomotives traveling through space, representing the original members leaving Chicago on their journey to the stars.

Desert Moon is the debut solo album from former Styx keyboard player/singer/songwriter Dennis DeYoung. It was released in 1984 by A&M Records. To date, it has been the most successful of his solo albums and most successful of any of the Styx member solo albums. The album sold respectably and reached No. 24 on the Billboard 200 album charts in the fall of 1984 and was certified Gold in Canada. The album's biggest hit was its title cut which hit No. 10 on the Billboard singles chart. The album's second single "Don't Wait for Heroes" reached No. 83 and got MTV play. DeYoung's solo debut dwarfed that of fellow band-mates Tommy Shaw and James Young.

Former Styx frontman Dennis DeYoung is back with the second volume of his fond farewell to recorded music, "26 East, Vol. 2.” As with the preceding volume, "26 East, Vol. 2" once again hints strongly at DeYoung's rock roots with Styx. The production and musicianship are EPIC, and those timeless vocal arrangements get delivered in spades. A fitting goodbye and a final signature on an outstanding body of work which will stand the test of time! DeYoung has previously stated that "26 East” will mark his retirement from the world of recorded music. It was thanks to Frontiers CEO, Serafino Perugino, that given the abundance of material, Dennis agreed to split the album in two parts. This second half starts where the previous one left off and sees DeYoung collaborate again with the awesome Jim Peterik, a fellow Chicagoan and nearby neighbor, for the songwriting on select tracks.
