The rest of the disc is devoted to sessions from the group’s aborted second LP, newly remixed for this edition.

Layla stands as one of a handful of pillars of classic rock. The short-lived ensemble that was the Dominos provided an outlet for Eric Clapton to vent his then unrequited (and secret) passion for the wife of his best friend, George Harrison. Romantic anguish inspired Clapton to write and collect an embroiling and interconnected song cycle. Meanwhile, latecomer Duane Allman prodded Clapton to tear it up on guitar, so as not to be overwhelmed by his even more talented foil. Of course, Clapton eventually won the hand of his lady love. And then he divorced her. Sometimes real life messes up a good plot line. ~ Steve Stolder

The 2CD set Nudity features The Lost Radle Tapes, which are said to be tapes made from the monitor by or for Carl Radle from the time the sessions were done. If they were reference tapes, it is uncertain if they were actually direct feeds or a microphone recording from studio monitors, which most of it sounds like. Nonetheless, it is a chance to hear the Layla And Other Assorted Love Songs in a way that was never heard, even on The Layla Sessions box set. Speaking of the box, the packaging of Nudity is made to look and feel like the box set, down to the style of fonts used. The last five songs are every existing mix made for the song "Layla", from the original mix with separated stereo mixing to a mastering made by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL) to an edit made for a Japanese 3 inch CD. Five mixes of "Layla" total. The three instrumental jam sessions are major highlights too.

In the early '70s, after the breakup of Blind Faith and his departure from Delaney & Bonnie, Eric Clapton made a last attempt at being "just one of the boys in the band" with Derek and the Dominos. It was his most inspired of those efforts, although the band only managed one studio album and a tour before falling apart. Powered by the dual guitars of Clapton and Duane Allman, the band created a raw, emotional sound. In tandem with Duane Allman, the two guitars wailed with pure, naked emotion, notably on the album's evergreen "Layla," which became a classic-rock evergreen.
