An extraordinary program for an extraordinary night: The Berliner Philharmoniker celebrates the final day of the 20th Century with Grand Finales in the first part and heralds the leap into the 21st Century with an explosion of sparkling music pieces in the second half of the program. For the Grand Finales, maestro Claudio Abbado conducts masterpieces including Beethoven's finale of the 7th symphony, excerpts from Stravinsky's "Feuervogel" and the final movement of Mahler's 5th Symphony. In the famous Finale of Arnold Sch+Ýnberg's "Gurrelieder", the internationally renowned actor Klaus Maria Brandauer plays a leading role.

The concert will end with the much-loved By the Beautiful Blue Danube and the perennially crowd-pleasing Radetzky March. 2016 marks the 75th anniversary of this hugely popular event and the concert will be broadcast in over 90 countries with an estimated 50 million television viewers around the world, all of whom will be treated to performances not only by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, but also the world-famous Vienna Boys' Choir and dancers from the Vienna State Ballet.

The announcement of the tour coincides with news of a ‘Live In Concert’ 2xCD album featuring Gori Women’s Choir, recorded at London’s Central Hall, Westminster, in December 2018. Gori Women’s Choir first worked with Katie on the silver-certified 2016 album ‘In Winter’.
