Limited double 180gm vinyl LP pressing in gatefold sleeve includes bonus track. The Supremes, the most commercially successful girl group in Pop history, were one of the jewels in Motown Records' artist stable. Given wonderful material by Motown's amazing songwriters, the group scored numerous #1 Pop hits, as did singer Diana Ross when she left the group and went solo, and Motown's bright, modern and uptown image as a label had a lot to do with the way these ladies gracefully and elegantly presented themselves and took over a song. Two dozen of those Number One hits, both as The Supremes and as Ross solo, are collected here, including the timeless classics 'Come See About Me', 'You Can't Hurry Love', 'You Keep Me Hangin' On' and 'Stop! In the Name of Love'. The album also features a bonus remix of 'You Keep Me Hangin' On'. Several songs on this album are longer than the original versions.Mastered and Tracks on Side One, Side Two & Side Three Track #1 Mixed by: Suha Gur at Universal Mastering Studios-East. Exclusively remastered. 180 gram audiophile vinyl pressing.

The Supremes, like most of Motown's impressive roster of artists, were essentially geared and groomed to produce great singles, and thanks to the brilliant Holland-Dozier-Holland songwriting team, that's exactly what the Supremes did between 1961 and 1969. A dozen of the group's singles hit number one on the pop charts, an amazing achievement, and with songs like "Come See About Me," "Back in My Arms Again," "My World Is Empty Without You," and "You Can't Hurry Love," to name just a few, it's easy to hear why. This 18-track collection boils everything down to the essential singles, and for most listeners, it'll be all they will ever need.

No, here's the ultimate Four Tops singles collection. Like Motown Select's 50th anniversary releases for the Temptations, Diana Ross & the Supremes, and Martha & the Vandellas, this is a three-disc anthology packaged like a hardcover book. It features nearly 60 pages of images, sleeve scans, detailed track information, and in-depth liner notes - much of which is sensibly repurposed from those like-shaped Complete Motown Singles volumes. The A-sides and B-sides appear chronologically - a terminally impressive sequence that includes the Top Five R&B singles "I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch)," "It's the Same Old Song," "Shake Me, Wake Me (When It's Over)," "Reach Out I'll Be There," "Standing in the Shadows of Love," and "Bernadette."

"Puzzle People" is the 11th studio album released by American soul quintet The Temptations for the Gordy (Motown) label in 1969. Produced entirely by Norman Whitfield, "Puzzle People" takes the next step along the path that "Cloud Nine" started, and takes the Temptations further away from a classic soul sound, and more towards the realm of psychedelic soul. Although a few ballads, including "Running Away (Ain't Gonna Help You)," are still present, the album is primarily composed of Sly & the Family Stone/James Brown-derived proto-funk tracks such as the lead single "Don't Let the Joneses Get You Down," and the #1 Billboard Pop hit "I Can't Get Next to You." Also included are psychedelic-styled covers (recorded with distorted guitars, clavinets, and spacy reverb and sound effects) of contemporary songs such as The Isley Brothers' "It's Your Thing," The Beatles' "Hey Jude," and Roger Miller's "Little Green Apples."

"More Hits by The Supremes" is the sixth studio album by Motown singing group The Supremes, released in 1965. The album includes two number-one hits: "Stop! In the Name of Love" and "Back in My Arms Again", as well as the Top 20 single "Nothing but Heartaches". The album opens up with the b-side "Ask Any Girl" from their "Where Did Our Love Go" album, which ironically ended side 2 of their previous album of new material. It was once planned for single release with this new mix. Barney Ales, then an executive vice-president of Motown Records, reported in the August 14, 1965 issue of Billboard magazine the album had advance orders estimated at 300,000. More Hits by The Supremes peaked at #6 on the U.S. Billboard album chart and remained on that chart for 37 weeks. It reached #2 on Billboard's R&B album chart. To further underscore their popularity, each girl's signature was autographed on the album cover. According to Motown data this album managed to sell over 1,675,000 copies.

This limited-edition anthology spotlights an impressive four-dozen previously unissued Diana Ross & the Supremes' selections from the seemingly infinite Motown archives. Of course there have been similarly copious collections of vintage Supremes' rarities, outtakes, remixes, and the like; most notably the highly collectable 25th Anniversary (1986) and Never Before Released Masters (1987), not to mention a plethora of additional multi-artist packages and expanded editions of classic Supremes' long-players. With such a myriad of previous outlets, one could easily presume that these 48 tracks are scraping the bottom of the proverbial barrel. Luckily for aficionados and enthusiasts of Florence Ballard, Diana Ross, and Mary Wilson, there seems to be plenty of quality leftovers.
