The Doors, one of the most influential and controversial rock bands of the 1960s, were formed in Los Angeles, California. The 1967 release of The Doors was the first in a series of top ten albums in the US, followed by Strange Days (1967), Waiting for the Sun (1968), The Soft Parade (1969), Morrison Hotel (1970), Absolutely Live (1970) and L.A. Woman (1971), with 19 Gold, 14 Platinum and 5 Multi-Platinum album awards in the United States alone. Although The Doors' active career ended in 1973, their popularity has persisted. According to the RIAA, they have sold 32.5 million certified units in the US. The band has sold over 100 million albums worldwide. The Doors were the first American band to accumulate eight consecutive gold LPs. In 1993, The Doors were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Doors are releasing the fabled studio outtake “Paris Blues” as the title track to a new blues-themed compilation coming out on vinyl for Record Store Day’s Black Friday event on November 25. The song – which is the last known unissued studio recording by The Doors – has been talked about by fans and band members for years.

“Paris Blues” also serves as the title track to a new blues-themed compilation of the same name coming out on vinyl for Record Store Day’s Black Friday event on November 25th. The album will be available as a limited edition of 10,000 numbered copies on translucent blue vinyl at select independent music stores. The LP’s cover art is an original painting by guitarist Robby Krieger, and the set also includes liner notes by blues scholar Mary Katherine Aldin.

The final album with Jim Morrison in the lineup is by far their most blues-oriented, and the singer's poetic ardor is undiminished, though his voice sounds increasingly worn and craggy on some numbers.

Another Dutton Vocalion's reissue combines a pair albums of Charlie Rich, remastered from the Original Master tapes by Michael J. Dutton. "Behind Closed Doors", from 1973, received the Country Music Association award for Album of the Year and Rich was named Best Male Vocalist for his performance on the album. Rich won the 1974 Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance Male and also took home four Academy of Country Music awards for this album. "Everytime You Touch Me (I Get High)" was released in 1975, and the title track peaked at number three on the country chart.

Infinite, a deluxe, limited-edition, audiophile boxed set from Analogue Productions, contains all six legendary albums by The Doors - the self-titled 1967 debut (one of rock's most important), Strange Days, Waiting For The Sun, The Soft Parade, Morrison Hotel and the visceral L.A. Woman. Each album has been remastered in multichannel for hybrid SACD by Doug Sax and The Doors' original engineer Bruce Botnick.
