Gloria Gaynor’s perennial and iconic worldwide smash “I Will Survive” has received the special modern remix treatment by dance music producer Eric Kupper. On June 12, 2020, “I Will Survive (The Eric Kupper Remixes),” featuring three new remixes, will be released as a digital EP by UMe.
Written by Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris and originally released in October 1978, the chart-topping single was destined to be a B-Side for the song “Substitute.” But the astute Gaynor saw the powerful potential in the track and the song found its audience. “‘I Will Survive’ has become an anthem around the globe for people facing challenges and tragedies in their life,” says Gaynor. “And now more than ever, we need to help each other and provide encouragement and inspiration through music whenever possible."

The band was founded in Chicago by Maurice White in 1970, having grown out of a previous band known as the Salty Peppers. Other members have included Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Fred White, Ralph Johnson, Larry Dunn, Al McKay and Andrew Woolfolk. "The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1" is a 1978 compilation album collecting the charting singles of Earth, Wind & Fire. In addition to collecting previously charting songs, the album also included three new tracks for the band: a cover of The Beatles' song "Got to Get You Into My Life" and the original track "September", both of which also became charting singles, the former also winning a Grammy Award, and "Love Music". "The Best of Earth, Wind & Fire, Vol. 1" is ranked numbers 30 and 44 on AllMusic's list of the Top urban and R&B albums of all time respectively.

Open Our Eyes is the fifth album by Earth, Wind & Fire. Released in 1974, this was the album that was the beginning of where the group would go next, featuring their first certified hit song, "Mighty Mighty". The album also includes "Kalimba Story", "Devotion", and "Fair But So Uncool". The 2001 remaster for Columbia Legacy features a few unreleased songs not on the original album. The MP3 version has an additional interlude recorded for the album but not released until it was placed on The Eternal Dance box set.
