"Emergency Entrance", released in 1972, so on CBS, saw the replacement of Newby with Frank Diez (Armaggedon) and Lindenberg with John REDPATH. This what is arguably their best album, as the third album, "get out to the country", saw the band at their most commercial and what, by and large, a great disappointment, even though this album featured the talents of Carthage vocalist/percussionist Peter Bischof and demon Thor/twenty Sixty six and Then keyboard player Veit Marvos. Supertramp guitarist Richard Palmer-James so featured on this album …

Emergency (1971). Originally released in 1971 on CBS, Emergency's 1st Album (with Udo Lindenberg on drums) is reissued legally for the first time on both formats Vinyl and CD. Often declared as brass-rock this album is a lot more: It shows the group with many influences, it's a meeting of guitar driven progrock by English guitarist Barrie Newby with east-euro jazz-rock influences mixed with Anglo-American styles as instigated by the likes of Chicago Transit Authority (Emergency's 'I'm a man' is 'Gimme some lovin'' by the Spencer Davis Group)…

Consisting of four piece (keyboards, guitar, bass & drums), VIENNA were something of a supergroup of Japanese prog during their short existence. The band performed a kind of music based on power as well as on a sense of emergency, and built on energetic themes as well as speedy rhythms and vocals. In many ways, they can be compared to GERARD, a progressive band with metal/hard rock tendencies. After an 8-year hiatus and having two studio albums and one live album in their résumé, Vienna returned to the recording studios with "Unknown", arguably their most powerful item.

It should have been just another memorable concert in the hectic life of the Geneva Chamber Orchestra. However, the global Covid-19 pandemic decided otherwise and turned this summit meeting with conductor Gábor Takács-Nagy and pianist Mikhaïl Pletnev into a historical moment. Chronicle of an extraordinary adventure…in every respect.
