Well thought out, it is hardly new that a new Guillermo McGill album endorses the level of exquisiteness that the veteran drummer has been crediting for decades from the front row of the Spanish scene.

"La Realidad De Los Sueños" is literally "the reality of dreams" for the numerous The Mars Volta fans all around the world. It not only contains the band's whole studio discography but also some true treasures like "Landscape Tantrums", unreleased material from the De-Loused In The Comatorium sessions.

After his latest recording, devoted to Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas in his own arrangement, Franz Halász returns to Spanish music with this recital devoted to Federico Moreno Torroba. The composer of many of the best-known zarzuelas, Moreno Torroba did not initially seem destined to specialize in guitar music. It was his symphonic poems that caught the attention of the legendary guitarist Andrés Segovia, who commissioned Moreno Torroba’s first compositions for guitar despite the composer’s unfamiliarity with the instrument. The compositions gathered here showcase a composer who, although deeply rooted in the Spanish musical tradition, was attuned to what was being done elsewhere, including the music of Claude Debussy and Igor Stravinsky, and who created a personal language marked by impressionism that would later influence guitar music throughout the twentieth century, from Heitor Villa-Lobos to Leo Brouwer.

“La vie de star” is an album written and composed by Hanaa Ouassim. Sung entirely in Darija (the Moroccan dialect), the record gives pride of place to pop, raï, and electronic inspirations, with a constantly transformed folk music in the background. Her songs talk about the price of freedom, the big departure, the coast, and escaping one's destiny. She was the opening act for the creation of the Transmusicales de Rennes and played as the opening act for Flavien Berger and Zaho de Sagazan.

His most recent release, La Fleur de Cayenne, highlights his work with an ensemble of Cuban expatriates and a Colombian vibraphonist who call Madrid, Spain home with a group they call the Madrid-New York Connection Band.
