Nearly four hours of live performances from Eric Clapton's acclaimed Crossroads Guitar Festival are coming to CD for the first time. This 3 disc collection feature 41 tracks of landmark performances from all four Crossroads Guitar Festivals, which were held in 2004, 2007, 2010 and 2013. Founded in 2004 by the legendary guitarist, the Crossroads Guitar Festival has given fans an opportunity to witness truly historic performances by some of the world's greatest guitarists. While fans have been able to relive those magical moments thanks to a series of successful DVD and Blu-ray compilations, only a few of those performances have made their way to CD. A veritable "Who's Who" of guitar music can be heard on this set, including Clapton, Jeff Beck, Gary Clark Jr., Robert Cray, Billy F Gibbons, Vince Gill, Buddy Guy, B.B. King, John Mayer, Carlos Santana, Joe Walsh, Ronnie Wood, and Jimmie Vaughn, just to name a few. Naturally, the all-star jams deliver some of the collection s most unforgettable moments. Held every three years since 2004, the Crossroads Guitar Festival raises funds for the Crossroads Centre in Antigua, a treatment and education facility that Clapton founded in 1998 to help people suffering from chemical dependency.

Eric Clapton recorded The Road to Escondido, a collaborative effort with his laconic idol J.J. Cale, in 2006 but the pair didn't play supporting concerts due to Cale's aversion of touring. He wound up showing up for one show: a date near his home in San Diego, playing five songs on March 15, 2007 at the iPayOne Center. That guest set forms the heart of 2016's Live in San Diego, a double-disc live album released three years after Cale's death…

As the first compilation covering Eric Clapton's Reprise/Warner work since 2007's Complete Clapton, 2015's Forever Man is the third collection to focus specifically on these recordings from the '80s, '90s, and 2000s, and it's by far the most extensive, weighing in at two CDs in its basic edition and three in its deluxe. The difference between the two is the addition of a disc of "Blues," a nice addition to the "Studio" and "Live" discs of the collection. These themes make sense on paper but they're a little odd in practice, with the Studio selections hopscotching between eras and the live heavy on new millennial selections. Often, the length highlights how light Forever Man is on hits: "Tears in Heaven," "I've Got a Rock N Roll Heart," "Forever Man," "Change the World," "My Father's Eyes," "Pretending," "Bad Love," "It's in the Way That You Use It," and the unplugged "Layla" are all here, but the sequencing suggests how the '70s hits are missing (or present in new live versions)…

Eric Clapton earned a reputation as a blues guitarist early in his career, and while he frequently returned to the blues - usually recording at least one blues tune per album - he never recorded a full-fledged blues album until 1994's From the Cradle. It became one of the most popular records of his career. Not long afterward, MCA assembled a collection of Jimi Hendrix's blues recordings, and that compilation also proved quite successful. Those two releases provided the blueprint for Blues, Polygram's double-disc collection of blues highlights from Clapton's RSO recordings of the '70s. On each of those albums, Clapton dabbled in the blues, and all of those moments, along with five previously unreleased tracks (both live and studio cuts), are featured here…

Booker Little passed away on October 5, 1961, at the age of 23, and Dolphy on June 29, 1964, at the age of 36.

Eric Clapton Young Man Blues (1994 Japanese-only 16-track CD album featuring the 1960s rhythm and blues works of young "Slow Hand", including Bluesbreakers, Yardbirds & immediate sessions with Jimmy Page).
At his peak, Eric Clapton was nicknamed "God" by his fans, an indication of how highly regarded the guitarist was during his glory days. This phrase, immortalized in graffiti that spread across London in 1967, originated a few years earlier when Clapton was playing with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers just after leaving the Yardbirds in 1965. Clapton never was comfortable with the nickname - he embraced "Slowhand," titling his 1977 album after it - but "Clapton Is God" is a pivotal part of his story and an instrumental moment in the rise of the guitar hero, a rock & roll cliché that didn't exist prior to EC…

Boomerang is the third offering from Eric Sardinas & Big Motor. It marks the trio's recording debut with drummer Bryan Keeling, a session and touring ace who spent six years with Shooter Jennings & the .357s. Founding bassist Levell Price is back of course, and the band enlists a small and select list of guests on various tracks. Inside the recording's cover sleeve are the words "….dedicated to my friend Johnny Winter. Thank you for the memories…." Winter's influence on Sardinas' playing is incalculable and acknowledged. But on Boomerang, recorded after Winter's death, the music is a direct reflection of his unruly good-time spirit. Check the title track where Sardinas' phrasing combines both early Texas and Delta blues in the intro in the same fashion Winter did. Both acoustic and electrified resonators are placed on stun, wrangling over Price's fuzzed-out choogling bass boogie.

Accompanied by drummer Éric Échampard and trumpeter Fabrice Martinez, Bruno Angelini dedicates his album Transatlantic Roots to certain figures he particularly admires in the United States and in particular to filmmakers whom he has followed for a long time. The preview title is dedicated to David Lynch, Spike Lee and Jim Jarmusch. "They have all developed a personal, original, sometimes intriguing, sometimes satirical, often poetic universe," he says. "The title is also a nod to French cinema (Vincent, François, Paul and the others by Claude Sautet)".

Eric Serra's score to Luc Besson's visionary yet incomprehensible sci-fi thriller "The Fifth Element" is a roller coaster of emotions, ranging from triumphant anthems to haunting mood pieces. Serra's score is diverse and accomplished, and it is just as effective outside of the film as it is within it. This reissue is newly remastered edition with one bonus track.
