Imagine that you sit down at your computer and work on a new track. You want this track to have that intangible color and vibe. Need noise, but hi-fi. You need a ribbon.

This book introduces methods of re-processing images to extract numerical information that can be used to quantify the observables in environmental modelling. Experiments or procedures that yield large images can be statistically or parametrically examined. Through the use of open source libraries, the book shows how ‘big data’ in the form of images or datasets can be comparatively analysed along same defined procedures or standards.

While historiography is dominated by attempts that try to standardize and de-individualize the behavior of animals, history proves to be littered with records of the exceptional lives of unusual animals. This book introduces animal biography as an approach to the re-framing of animals as both objects of knowledge as well as subjects of individual lives.

The title of this album can be understood in different ways and lends itself to wordplay. Entertainment comes first, according to the literal translation of the Spanish diversión. And indeed, the works are at least partly intended to be light-hearted and relaxed. Nevertheless, the lightness of the French composer Olivier Penard's music is almost illusory or merely a detour, because behind a diverse language there is music of serious, sometimes tragic expressivity, carried by an intense dramaturgy. As in the "Concert Argentin" with tango, jazz and milonga, but with the tragic life of Eva Perón at its center.

With this CD book, Bruno Cocset completes his Nascita del Violoncello . After a first part published in 2011, devoted to Bologna and his first repertoire for the cello (Vitali, Gabrielli, Jacchini) - reissued in this boxed set - he presents, with the musicians of Basses Réunies, a new recording devoted to Naples, from the Renaissance composer Diego Ortiz to the gallant and virtuoso cello of Lanzetti… offering two crossed views, two approaches that provide a better understanding of the identity of this instrument. The instruments used here - Cocset plays ten in all - bear witness both to this journey and to the bond that has bound him for many years to his luthier, Charles Riché.

At the age of 12, Alexandre Cavaliere met Didier Lockwood, who invited him to Paris, giving his career a flying start. Then, everything followed naturally. Alexandre Cavaliere has been touring the international scene and has an impressive list of performances: at the Princess Grace Theatre in Monaco, as the opening act for Michel Jonasz at the Olympia, at the Espoo Jazz Festival in Finland, at the Brosella Folk & Jazz Festival and at the Djangofolllies, or again, thanks to Dorado Schmitt, in New York, at the Django Reinhardt Festival at Birdland.
