Cats In Space’s debut album ‘Too Many Gods’ was released in 2015 and rightly won the band many rave reviews. Since then they have toured supporting Thunder, done a joint headline tour with Space Elevator, appeared at Hyde Park supporting Phil Collins this summer and have a spot at the legendary Cropredy festival. Now they are set to unleash that difficult second album…no not for these cats as they have musical ideas and tunes many bands would love to have.

There isn't much arguing that the three studio albums Alex Chilton cut with Big Star between 1972 and 1975 represent the creative high-water mark of his career, but it doesn't seem to be a period he looks back upon with much fondness. The man rarely plays songs from the Big Star catalog in his solo shows, and while he assembled a new version of the band in 1993 – with Chilton and original drummer Jody Stephens joined by Jonathan Auer and Ken Stringfellow of the Posies – the group has only played sporadic live dates since then (presumably when someone ponies up the right price for a gig), and it has taken 12 years for Chilton to work up the enthusiasm to make a new Big Star album…

Just re-released in October 2003, for the first time on DVD, comes this capture of a live performance on the 1995 'Alien 4' tour. It was really the last time (as in most recent) that Hawkwind mounted one of their nationwide-tours-with-a-big-stage-show…

Album release from The Soft Machine featuring footage of the band's concert in Paris in 1977. Originally released in 1978. Features cardboard sleeve and remastering. Includes a Japanese obi and a description. On the band's first live album, 1978's Alive & Well: Recorded in Paris, Soft Machine's personnel changes continue, with Steve Cooke replacing Roy Babbington on bass, and violinist Ric Saunders joining since the 1976 studio album Softs, as guitarist John Etheridge, keyboardist Karl Jenkins, and drummer John Marshall remain in place. (Since this is the group's first album not to feature any participation from an original member of Soft Machine, a name change might have been ethically, if not commercially, advisable.) Like Softs, Alive & Well is largely a vehicle for the compositions of Jenkins, who wrote nine of 11 tracks.

In 1976 Steve recorded the album "L" with Todd Rundgren producing. The album was a huge success and Steve subsequently formed the Steve Hillage Band which included former Jethro Tull drummer Clive Bunker and future Camel bassist Colin Bass. The band made its live debut at the Hyde Park concert staged by Queen in September 1976. Following the live debut the band played numerous live concerts including a concert in Germany in early 1977 for German television. This recording is considered to be the ear that Hillage was at his creative best, following on from the release of his Virgin album L. Highlights include the cover version of Donovans Hurdy Gurdy Man a true Psychedelic work out. A must for all psyc and prog rock fans.

Scarabus is the third and the last studio album by British jazz rock band Ian Gillan Band, released in October 1977. The album was reissued in 1982 by Virgin Records in the height of popularity of Ian Gillan's group Gillan (a CD edition followed in 1989). The CD reissue included an extra track, "My Baby Loves Me". This track, recorded live at the Budokan Hall, Tokyo, Japan, on 22 September 1977, was originally part of the double LP set Live at the Budokan, and had been omitted from the UK release in error. Ian Gillan re-used the vocal melody of the title track "Scarabus" on the song "Disturbing the Priest" six years later, on the album Born Again (1983) during his short tenure with the British hard rock/heavy metal band Black Sabbath. The guitar riff on "Mercury High" is the same as the one played by guitarist Ray Fenwick on "Back USA" from his 1971 solo album Keep America Beautiful, Get a Haircut.
