Modelling and Controlling of Behaviour for Autonomous Mobile Robots

Modelling and Controlling of Behaviour for Autonomous Mobile Robots by Hendrik Skubch
English | PDF | 2013 | 264 Pages | ISBN : 3658008105 | 1.9 MB

As research progresses, it enables multi-robot systems to be used in more and more complex and dynamic scenarios. Hence, the question arises how different modelling and reasoning paradigms can be utilised to describe the intended behaviour of a team and execute it in a robust and adaptive manner. Hendrik Skubch presents a solution, ALICA (A Language for Interactive Cooperative Agents) which combines modelling techniques drawn from different paradigms in an integrative fashion. Hierarchies of finite state machines are used to structure the behaviour of the team such that temporal and causal relationships can be expressed. Utility functions weigh different options against each other and assign agents to different tasks. Finally, non-linear constraint satisfaction and optimisation problems are integrated, allowing for complex cooperative behaviour to be specified in a concise, theoretically well-founded manner.

by Emma Clarke (Author)
Based on latest research in the field, this book links theory and practice with key agendas and policies on behaviour, children’s mental health and well-being. It considers how policy and research influence each other and provides a range of whole-school and individual-teacher actions to support all children, but particularly for those whose behaviour is seen as challenging.

Spider Ecology and Behaviour

Spider Ecology and Behaviour by Thomas Hesselberg and Dumas Gálvez
English | PDF | 2023 | 162 Pges | ISBN : N/A | 19.8 MB

Spiders are the only large arthropod group that uses silk throughout their life; therefore, much effort has been focused on the interactions between ecology, silk, and foraging behaviour. However, it is also becoming clear that spiders can more generally act as model organisms for studies on sexual selection, invertebrate cognition, and animal communication and signalling, as well as their potential role in biological control. Similarly, new promising research directions are being developed that explore plant–spider and spider–microbe interactions.
