China Crisis underwent a complete change in sound for their third album, completely ditching the heavy dub rhythms and challenging arrangements of 1982's Difficult Shapes & Passive Rhythms, Some People Think It's Fun to Entertain and 1983's Working with Fire and Steel (Possible Pop Songs, Vol. 2) with an altogether smoother and less aggressive sound. That doesn't equal a commercial capitulation, however; if anything, the choice of Walter Becker (of the then-unfashionable Steely Dan) as producer was a more commercially daring maneuver than anything the group had previously attempted…
After recording one of their darkest albums, 1984's The Top, the Cure regrouped and shuffled their lineup, which changed their musical direction rather radically. While the band always had a pop element in their sound and even recorded one of the lightest songs of the '80s, "The Lovecats," The Head on the Door is where they become a hitmaking machine. Some artists carve out albums, others issue singles. It’s hard to tell where Tom Petty sits. For the most part, he’s a singles man. In the realm of the universe, the majority of people who like or appreciate Petty and his Heartbreakers probably own his 1993 collection, Greatest Hits. After all, it’s the guy’s best-selling album to date, having sold over 10 million copies and been certified…

Highlights of the second disc include an energetic concert performance of "Handsome Devil," an alternate version of "Pretty Girls Make Graves," and "The Queen Is Dead," a searing song lifted from the esteemed album of the same name.

Since their rebirth in 2010, through a string of amazing live performances, signing to Metal Blade Records, and releasing three excellent metal albums, Sorcerer have been firing on all cylinders with no plans of stopping for anyone. There is no stopping the mighty Sorcerer and in the autumn of 2023 the band will release their highly anticipated fourth album entitled "Reign of the Reaper". Again not content with repeating themselves the album features some of the darkest, heaviest and most aggressive material the band has ever recorded, and at the same time some of the most lyrical and beautiful.
