Fatal Fusion is a Norwegian progressive rock band from Hurum just outside of Oslo, Norway. Dissonant Minds is the bands fourth album, and the first on Apollon Records. Strongly influenced by 60s & 70s progressive rock like King Crimson, Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Rush, Deep Purple, etc. Fatal Fusion has a broad musical landscape, combining many musical styles from jazz, blues, rock, metal, funk, psychedelia, ambient, Latin and classical music into a mix. Fatal Fusion return for what is now their third album; hailing from Oslo in Norway they released their debut Land of the Sun in 2010, following that in 2013 with The Ancient Tale, both receiving great reviews. "Total Absence" is a darker and more epic release, but they continue to pay homage to the progressive and classic rock bands of the seventies, blending different genres - from metal, blues, jazz and hard rock through to psychedelia - to create a unique sound. Indeed, they cite broad musical influences from ’60s and ’70s sources, including King Crimson, Rainbow, Camel, Pink Floyd, ELP, Yes, Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple, and also some ’80s and ’90s influences like Anekdoten, Spock’s Beard, IQ and Marillion.
Fatal Fusion is a progressive rock band from Oslo, Norway. The group got together in early 2008, after emerging from the ashes of several Rock/Blues covers bands. The release of their debut album "Land of the Sun" in 2010 have received great reviews from around the world, and also got them nominated for "best debut album 2010" by Prog Awards. Utilizing classic instruments, synths, mellotron and hammond organ as part of their sound, they pay homage to the progressive rock bands from the 70´s, whilst still aiming to create their own unique sound, blending in elements form different musical genres as rock, metal, blues, jazz, and latin, trying to get a broad musical landscape.
