Formed in 1977, X is pushing up against a half century as a band, watching their friends in the Germs, the Bags, Black Flag and even chart toppers the Go-Go's come and go. Sure, X hasn't been totally active that entire time, but no one, especially the band themselves, expected their run to last as long as it has. If you've read this far, you're more than likely familiar with X—the Los Angeles band with a now-classic debut LP named after their hometown that helped set the standard for arty punk and influenced a generation, expanding the movement in SoCal to the far reaches of the world in the late '70s and early '80s. Between the duelling John Doe and Exene Cervenka vocals, the Americana-influenced early punk riffs and the great songwriting, X cemented their place as a key band of the early punk movement, one that could be said in the same breath as Talking Heads, Ramones, and Television.

Leopold and His Fiction are a rock band based in Austin, TX. The name comes from an uncompleted novel by frontman Daniel James; his songs are a melodic telling from the written endeavors of his youth. The fourth full-length from Leopold and His Fiction - Darling Destroyer (which now features Alexander "Z" Lynch on bass and vocals, Jeremy Holmsley on keyboards and vocals, and Mark Henne on drums), echoes that urgency with a savage yet soulful sound testifying to James' Detroit heritage. Throughout Darling Destroyer, Leopold and His Fiction reveal their gritty ingenuity by merging delicately crafted lyrics with blistering guitar work.

Operation Northwoods is a new band formed by four accomplished young musicians who have collaborated on innovative projects together for many years. Trumpeter Douglas Detrick and saxophonist Hashem Assadullahi first met while completing their graduate studies in Eugene, Oregon, and went on to collaborate on numerous projects, including Hashem's pub-rock band Safety Buffalo and Doug's award winning chamber-jazz crossover band, the Anywhen Ensemble.

As its title suggests, every song on Non-Fiction is derived from a true story. Some are NE-YO's own personal tales while others were submitted by fans on social-media platforms like Twitter and Instagram. ''I didn't just want to tell my story. I like letting people try to guess which is which!'' explains NE-YO. ''I'm a storyteller: with this album, I wanted to put a magnifying glass on that. I wanted Non-Fiction to feel cinematic: each track gives listeners something entertaining, yet if they take their time with it, they'll discover different dimensions and subplots.''

Tom Bailey, front man from The Thompson Twins, releases his debut solo album ‘Science Fiction’. Inspired by his return to the live stage in 2014, of SCIENCE FICTION, Tom Bailey comments, “I so much enjoyed playing concerts around the world over the last couple of years, that I began working behind the scenes on writing, recording and mixing the songs in this collection. I have concentrated on other areas of music for the past couple of decades – but I find it incredibly rewarding to be making pop music again.
