Finn (dirty Misfits MC #6)

Produced by Dave Fridmann (Mercury Rev, The Flaming Lips), 'Dizzy Heights' is the third solo album by Neil Finn following 1998's Try Whistling This and 2001's One Nil. Finn did not set out on his third solo album with a theme in mind. But by the time he came to call it after another track on the record, "Dizzy Heights", it had become inescapable. "It crept up on me. I started noticing it in lots of places. You start off with a number of different threads and angles and demos, and they dictate the terms of the record. It's only in the course of the process that you maybe get a feeling there's a type of song emerging, or an atmosphere.

Dusty Fingers is the name of a series of compilation records of songs that are widely admired as breakbeats collected by Bronx DJ Danny Dann the Beat Mann. Some of the songs featured contain "open breaks" which are solo drum passages which enable DJs to easily transition into them. These are also attractive to producers, who loop or rearrange them to create new compositions. Following in the tradition of the Ultimate Breaks and Beats series, the Dusty Fingers records contain an eclectic range of musical styles: mainly funk and jazz, but also including soul, rock, disco, and pop. Many of the songs in the Dusty Fingers series have been sampled into new musical compositions, mainly by hip hop producers. Popular songs that sample songs from the Dusty Fingers series include "Guilty Conscience" by Eminem, "Find Your Wealth" by Nas, "Rowdy Rowdy" by 50 Cent, "Show Me What You Got" by Jay-Z, "Daydreamin'" by Lupe Fiasco, and "Dr. Carter" by Lil' Wayne.

24-year-old pianist Kris Bowers, winner of the 2011 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition, is releasing his debut Concord Jazz recording. Inspiration for the songs are the highly accelerated technological advancements of today, and the resulting power for those that use them. The talented sextet reflects this with playing rooted in jazz, but also reflective of an eclectic musical age (think Robert Glasper and José James). Guest vocalists include Julia Easterlin, José James & Chris Turner.

Live!! is the 1996 EP by Japanese duo MC Hellshit & DJ Carhouse. The MC of the group is Eye Yamatsuka of Boredoms, the DJ of the group is Otomo Yoshihide. Eye grunts and screams while Otomo becomes a DJ in the noisiest sense. This is the second of two EP's the two did together, both share the same title but are indicated with the amount of exclamation points. This one has two exclamation points so it is the second and final edition.
