Assembled with the aid of chief Fireman Lambert, the 3-CD set features many rare delights, such as all four tracks (including the previously unreleased 'It's Not Easy Falling Out Of Love' and 'Boys And Girls Together') that the band recorded in mid-1967 at the RG Jones studio under their original name of Friday's Chyld, plus two tracks ('Live To Love' and 'Back There Again') that were recorded in late 1970 by a revised line-up, and which have never previously appeared on a Fire package.

Four CD set. Best known for their 1965 hit, the brooding garage pop masterpiece 'Take A Heart', Coventry band The Sorrows cut a clutch of similarly vital 45s and the Take A Heart album before frontman Don Fardon left in 1966. While Fardon went on to a solo career, The Sorrows regrouped and moved to Italy, where they had a couple of minor hit singles and released the psych-rock album Old Songs, New Songs before breaking up at the end of the decade. While those two distinct phases of the band have been individually anthologized before, Pink Purple Yellow And Red represents the first time that they have been assembled under one roof, and as such stands as the definitive document of The Sorrows' fascinating career. In addition to those pivotal mid-Sixties singles, the package includes the entire "Take A Heart" album in both mono and stereo, the "Old Songs, New Songs" LP and an earlier acetate-only demo album that was scrapped when two members of the band left. The set also features their collaborations with soundtrack maestro Ennio Morricone, their title song to the Italian spy movie Ypotron, a superb acetate-only early 1968 single, spin-off singles by The Eggy and Renegade, a 1980 live show from the reformed band and, in a thrilling new archival find, four previously unissued 1964 recordings with legendary producer Joe Meek. Housed in a clamshell box, and including a lavish booklet containing many rare photos and a detailed essay on the band's activities, the set Pink Purple Yellow And Red is an essential purchase for anyone with more than a passing interest in Sixties British pop.

Established in 1967 at the height of their powers, The Beatles’ Apple operation saw the group embrace and encourage a wealth of contemporary musical talent, offering studio time and demo facilities alongside recording and publishing contracts. This unique opportunity attracted artists and songwriters from across the musical spectrum, and GOOD AS GOLD presents a snapshot of that talent, spanning the years 1967 to 1975. From the psychedelic tinged sounds of the mid-late 1960s onwards, the label matured and evolved alongside its audience and remains as compelling today as it did during those halcyon days.

This includes “Greatest Hits” or “Best Of” albums which of course duplicated tracks from regular albums. These tracks have been left in their respective original albums. Although these albums have all appeared on CD reissues at various times over the years, this is the first box set to gather together all of the recordings in one set. In addition, there is the bonus of all of the recordings that never featured on the original LPs. Some of these tracks are making their CD debut within this collection.

Folk-rock obscurity Fred Neil is regularly touted as one of the movement's pioneering geniuses, and The Sky Is Falling: The Complete Live Recordings 1963-1971 puts his work into perspective for any doubters. Collecting his live 1971 swan song album, The Other Side of This Life (which counts celebrity guests like David Crosby, Gram Parsons, and Stephen Stills), and appending four early rarities taped from a Bitter End performance in 1963, this set bookends Neil's folk-rock career insightfully.

Such is the scenario we find with UK legends Her Name Is Calla as we witness their final musical statement, the diverse and persistently riveting double album Animal Choir. This is one of those rare and exciting albums that feels like art clicking on all cylinders; no rules, no boundaries, nothing holding the performers back from doing exactly what is in their hearts, watching as every stroke lands just right on the canvas.

U.S. BROADCAST RECORDING FROM THE CURE’S 1984 TOP TOUR
The Cure had been gradually building their U.S. fan base when they embarked on their third American tour to promote their 1984 studio release, The Top. This broadcast recording was made on that tour, and features the band during their most defining musical period. • Coming off the success of hits like "Let's Go To Bed" and "Boys Don't Cry," Robert Smith and the band had finally come to the point where they could take The Cure's eccentric, characteristically dark sound and combine it with a more radio-friendly approach. At the same time that he was working with The Cure, Smith was also playing with Siouxsie and the Banshees. Musically, however, his true home was always with The Cure - a fact made more than apparent on this recording. • The Cure would eventually go through a number of musical and personal upheavals, but most agree this was the time when they were at their musical peak. Highlights of this set include "Let's Go To Bed," "Boys Don't Cry." and the track borrowed to name this live document “Happy The Man”. They end this noteworthy gig with a live rendition of "Killing An Arab." • For diehard fans or curious listeners, this show offers an impeccable live recording of one of the '80s biggest groups in their prime.
