Lover is the seventh studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. It was released on August 23, 2019. The album is Swift's first release under Republic Records and Taylor Swift Productions. The lead single "Me!" featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! at the Disco was released on April 26, 2019. The second single "You Need to Calm Down" was released on June 13, 2019. The title track was released as the third single on August 16, 2019. Aside from Urie, Lover also features a collaboration with the Dixie Chicks. The album was produced by Swift, Jack Antonoff, Joel Little, Louis Bell, Frank Dukes and Sounwave, Swift also serves as the executive producer.

Like so many country entertainers of his era, Charles Levi Walker (born in Copeville, Texas on November 2nd 1926) grew up in rural surroundings, spending his early years picking cotton and being inspired by the sounds of country music. After short spells with Imperial, Decca and Mercury Records he secured a deal with Columbia in mid-1958 and on his first session, June 5th 1958, recorded a new song from the up-and- coming songwriter Harlan Howard, then a fork-lift driver in California. Produced by Don Law, ‘Pick Me Up On Your Way Down’ brought success for both singer and writer. The record climbed to #2 in the US country charts during a 22 week chart run. It also set Charlie Walker’s direction in the many recordings that followed. A honky-tonk hero was born!

"I know where I'm headed, but I don't know what it is," says Devin Townsend in the initial episode of the seven-part documentary that prefaced the release of Empath, his first solo album since dissolving the Devin Townsend Project in 2017.
