Follow up Computed Tomography After Evacuation of Chronic Subdural Hematoma

X-ray imaging is a corner stone of breast cancer diagnosis. By exploiting the phase shift of X-rays rather than their attenuation, phase-contrast tomography has the potential to dramatically increase the visibility of small and low contrast features, thus leading to better diagnosis. This thesis presents research on the first synchrotron-based project developing a clinical phase-contrast breast computed tomography (CT) setup at Elettra, the Italian Syncrotron Radiation Facility.

While most current texts on the coronary artery include only a single chapter on anomalies, this is the first of its kind to focus on the challenges involved with imaging coronary artery anomalies in infants. Since the appearance of coronary artery anomalies is dramatically different in infants with commonly associated congenital heart disease, unique techniques and careful timing are required for imaging these 1-2 mm blood vessels. Additionally, many coronary anomalies are not commonly seen because the infants don’t survive past childhood.

The current literature targeted at these providers is sparse, and the existing literature is very broad and large in scope and size. There are no quick pocket guides on this topic that the general practitioner may use as a point of care reference. This first of its kind text provides a practical, hands-on approach to the evaluation and treatment of chronic pain in the family medicine setting.
