Camille a décidé de tracer sa propre route afin d’être au plus proche de ses volontés artistiques. - - Pour la première fois aussi, elle ne réunit que les musiciens avec qui elle tourne depuis plusieurs années afin d’être au plus proche du son de groupe qu’ils ont obtenu à force de tourner ensemble. - - Cet album se différencie des autres en misant sur un son organique, un peu comme un ‘laboratoire’ qui deviendrait disque. La batterie, très présente sur ses anciens albums, est remplacée par les percussions. La Düsseldorf was a German band, consisting of onetime Kraftwerk drummer and Neu! multi-instrumentalist Klaus Dinger and occasional Neu! collaborators Thomas Dinger and Hans Lampe. La Düsseldorf was formed after Neu! disbanded following the release of their Neu! '75 record. They released a string of successful albums (with sales totaling over a million) during the late 1970s and early 1980s and were considered highly influential by the likes of Brian Eno and David Bowie, with Bowie going so far as calling La Düsseldorf "the soundtrack of the eighties".

One critic called him the central shining star of the German jazz scene. He certainly brings wide-ranging inspiration to it. The music, philosophy and religion of Asia, and especially Japan have fascinated him for a long time, and he has undertaken several journeys of study there. In Kyoto mon Amour this passion is now documented on record. With Japanese musicians, he takes on the challenge of building bridges between Japanese and western music.
