Gary Puckett & The Union Gap (initially credited as The Union Gap featuring Gary Puckett) was an American pop rock group active in the late 1960s. The group, formed by Gary Puckett, Gary 'Mutha' Withem, Dwight Bement, Kerry Chater and Paul Wheatbread, who eventually named it The Union Gap, had its biggest hits with "Woman, Woman", "Young Girl", "Lady Willpower", "Over You", "Don't Give In to Him, and "This Girl Is a Woman Now". The members featured costumes that were based on the Union Army uniforms worn during the American Civil War. Jerry Fuller gave the act a recording contract with Columbia Records. The group eventually grew unhappy with doing material written and produced by others, leading them to stop working with Fuller. The band eventually disbanded, and Puckett went on to do both solo work and collaborations.

Retrospective round up of Blues Band Gary Fletcher’s entire oeuvre. These two CDs contain most of the tracks that appeared on three CDs: ‘Feud Of Love’ by The Relatives, ‘The Official Gary Fletcher Bootleg Album’ and ‘Human Spirit’, released in 1997, 2004 and 2007 respectively. When I say ‘most of the tracks’, the only ones left off are songs which appear on two of the albums and this occurred because the GF Bootleg CD was effectively a compilation of demos, some of which appeared in their final form on ‘Human Spirit’. Gary is currently touring with the Blues Band and will promoting the album along the way. Digitally remastered and slipcased and with new notes.

Glam Rock / Pop Rock | Snapper Music's U.K. DCD Compilation # GGCD 001

Perhaps second to only Freddie Mercury, Gary Glitter was the most flamboyant figure of the early '70s U.K. glam rock movement. With a bouffant hairdo, snazzy clothes, high platform boots, and hairy chest exposed, to the delight of his female fans, Glitter rocked his way to the top of the British charts, enjoying a string of big hit singles. This 32-tracks official compilation is a fine introduction to one of glam rock's leading artists. Every track is good/great/wonderful. You can't go wrong with such glam standards as "Rock & Roll Pt. 2", "Do You Wanna Touch Me", "Leader Of The Gang", "Doing Alright With the Boys", and "Oh Yes! You're Beautiful", which are all included here in their mascara-caked glory. This 2 CD set is the best Gary Glitter compilation on the market.

Two of vibraphonist Gary Burton's albums from 1969-1970 are reissued in full on this single CD. Burton teams up with pianist Keith Jarrett for five numbers (including four of Jarrett's originals) in 1970, using a quintet that also features guitarist Sam Brown, bassist Steve Swallow, and drummer Bill Goodwin. The other session has more of an avant-country flavor, with Burton, Swallow, and Goodwin joined by guitarist Jerry Hahn and violinist Richard Greene; Michael Gibbs and Swallow contributed most of the obscurities. Burton was at his most explorative during this period, which is why he can be considered one of the pioneers of fusion (although his music never really fit into a tight category). This is excellent music that mostly still sounds fresh.

Gary Moore's 1989 release, After the War features a return to the metal guitar riffing of his 80's records ("Speak for Yourself" and "Running From The Storm"), while continuing to explore more conventional pop dynamics with mixed results - it works great on "Ready to Love."…

Run For Cover took the heavy metal ingredients of Gary Moore's previous two albums and added a little pop refinement to the mix. Thankfully, this did not compromise the overall heaviness of the record, and Moore even achieves a successful remake of his classic ballad "Empty Rooms."…
