Presenting Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) by academy award-winning composer Dario Marianelli. This album features an original score written by Marianelli for the latest instalment in the Ghostbusters film franchise. For his second collaboration with Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire director Gil Kenan, Marianelli initially took inspiration from the iconic soundscape crafted by Elmer Bernstein for director Ivan Reitman’s original 1984 blockbuster. The result is a nostalgia-inducing score that captures the spirit of Bernstein’s well-loved soundtrack while establishing a distinct sound for the franchise’s new chapter.

For the first time ever - 32 years after the film’s 1989 release - the Original Score to Ghostbusters II will be available across digital and physical formats from Sony Classical. The album includes original tracks as well as 3 newly re-recorded tracks and an additional track originally recorded for Ghostbusters II but not featured in the film.

2021 sees the release of Rob Simonsen’s latest collaboration with director Jason Reitman, with his score for Ghostbusters: Afterlife following their previous films together: The Front Runner and Tully. Other recent film scores include The Friend, The Way Back, and Love, Simon. Based in Los Angeles and ever with his finger on the pulse of contemporary music, he co-founded the influential collective The Echo Society with the mission ‘to inspire, challenge, enrich and connect the community through the creation and performance of new sonic and visual art’. Simonsen’s debut artist album Reveries was released in 2019 on Sony Masterworks.

Ghostbusters makes its long-awaited return, rebooted with a cast of hilarious new characters. Thirty years after the beloved original franchise took the world by storm, director Paul Feig brings his fresh take to the supernatural comedy, joined by some of the funniest actors working today Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones and Chris Hemsworth. Returning from the original cast to join in the fun are Bill Murray, Sigourney Weaver, Dan Aykroyd, Annie Potts and Ernie Hudson. Ghostbusters opens in theaters nationwide on July 15.

Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for Karyn Kusama’s thriller Destroyer. The album features the film’s original music composed by Theodore Shapiro (The Devil Wears Prada, Ghostbusters, Spy, Tropic Thunder, A Simple Favor). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 16, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Destroyer is directed by Kusama, written by Phil Hay & Matt Manfredi and stars Nicole Kidman, Sebastian Stan, Toby Kebbell, Tatiana Maslany, Bradley Whitford, Jade Pettyjohn and Scoot McNairy. The movie follows the moral and existential odyssey of an LAPD detective who, as a young cop, was placed undercover with a gang in the California desert with tragic results. The thriller premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and will be released in theaters on December 25 by Annapurna Pictures.
