For all the slings and arrows retrospectively cast at the titans of '70s rock, the notion that these bands were somehow callow opportunists who'd sacrifice their authenticity and musical spirit to climb a few more slots on the chart is one that never applied to Fleetwood Mac.

The first 50th anniversary Billy Joel package has been announced, with Billy Joel – The Vinyl Collection, Vol.1, set for release on November 21st. Focusing on Billy’s 1970's material, the set features all the albums from 1971's Cold Spring Harbor through 1981's Songs In The Attic — with the exception of 1980's Glass Houses.

Nick Cave and Warren Ellis will release a new live album, Australian Carnage - Live at the Sydney Opera House, this Friday, August 25. The album collects recordings from their performances at the venue from December 16 to 18 last year during the Australian Carnage Tour. An abridged version will come out on vinyl on December 1. Gerry Cinnamon, an already legendary live performer, made history last summer after selling out Scotland's national football stadium twice over to become the first independent act - and the first Scot - to sell out multiple nights at Hampden Park. A year on, the definitive live album from the multi-platinum singer/songwriter will be released on 14 July 2023.

This 1970 solo acoustic set at D.C.'s Cellar Door catches Neil Young in a bleak, hollow mood, rudely awoken from the hippie dream his audience still wants to believe. Amidst an accumulation of dark, druggy vibes, Live at the Cellar Door shows Young peeking over the edge of the 60s into the dark chasm of the next decade. “It’s about what happens when you start getting high, and you find out that people you thought you knew, you don’t know anymore, because they don’t get high and you do.”

Stax Records, an imprint of Concord Bicycle Music, is pleased to announce the release of Otis Redding – Live At The Whisky A Go Go: The Complete Recordings. In chronological order, this six-CD collection presents the entirety of Redding’s historic performances over three nights at the famed Sunset Strip venue. The seven sets, recorded Friday, April 8th – Sunday, April 10th, 1966, feature the singer’s popular songs of the time, including “Respect,” “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long” and his cover of The Rolling Stones’ “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” Several of these recordings–all remixed and remastered from the original 4-track analog tapes–will be made available for the very first time on October 21. In fact, this collection will be the first to offer fans the chance to relive all of the sets in their entirety–including between-song banter by Redding–exactly as they were performed. Rounding out the package is a poster, plus new liner notes from Los Angeles-based journalist Lynell George and box set co-producer Bill Bentley.
