Frontiers Music Srl is proud to announce the debut album, “We Belong To The Stars”, from Sweden's Ginevra, a new group comprised of vocalist Kristian Fyhr (Seventh Crystal), guitarist Magnus Karlsson (The Ferrymen, Primal Fear), bassist Jimmy Jay (H.E.A.T.), and drummer Magnus Ulfstedt (ex-Eclipse, Nordic Union). Ginevra came to be after Kristian Fyhr sent Serafino Perugino, Frontiers Records President, some songs he had written for consideration to be used on future Frontiers' label projects. One particular song, 'My Rock N' Roll' jumped out at Perugino and he asked Fyhr if he would be interested in fronting a new band that would craft an entire album in a musical direction illustrated in that song, which was substantially different from Fyhr's main band Seventh Crystal. The final results brought Ginevra's sound under the same big umbrella of excellent Nordic melodic hard rock like H.E.A.T, Eclipse, Crowne, and the like, but without necessarily sounding like those bands.
Giulio Briccialdi (1818-1881) was from an early aged destined to became what he was universally called “The Prince of the Flute”. He started his career as flutist and composer by playing in the intervals of opera productions throughout Italy, later he spread his wings and was active in several European capitals like Vienna, Budapest, Munich and London, a celebrated virtuoso mixing with the most important musical figures of his time.
OehmsClassics proudly presents this recording of the Jubilee Concert „250th Anniversary of the Birth of Simon Mayr“ made in June 2013 in Ingolstadt. The performance was of Mayr’s opera Ginevra di Scozia, a saga from Scotland that is an important step in the transition to romantic Italian opera.
The bicentenary of this occasion was celebrated with a new production of the same work and Opera Rara went to Trieste to record the initial performances of this important revival. The cast is led by French soprano Elizabeth Vidal who tackles the stratospheric role of Ginevra with ease (and Es – a bushel of them!!). As the hero Ariodante, Daniela Barcellona confirms her place on the roster of talented, young artists emerging from Italy. Antonino Siragusa, likewise, is representative of the new generation of bel canto tenors.

The 4 Flute Concertos were only recently published and are recorded here for the first time: fresh, inventive and virtuoso works written in warm Italian bel canto style: exquisite!
Beautifully played by Ginevra Petrucci, one of Italy’s foremost flutists, who also prepared the editions. She recorded already 5 CD’s for Brilliant Classics, with music by Kuhlau, Dupuy, Büchner, Muczynski and others.
