Godzilla King of The Monsters 4K 2019

Het is ondertussen ruim twee jaar geleden dat we in deze rubriek de vierde cd van King of the World voorstelden. Het collectief rond de zingende bassist Ruud Weber, orgelist Govert van der Kolm en gitarist Erwin Java bevestigde met Cincinnati hun reputatie als een van de betere bands in het door gitaren gedomineerde bluesrock landschap. Uitgerekend de gitarist stapte op, Erwin Java met een verleden bij White Honey en latere reïncarnaties van Herman Brood’s Wild Romance en Cuby’s Blizzards en medeoprichter van KOTW. De tanende muzikale wisselwerking en activiteiten in projecten zoals Pioniers van de Nederpop en Keeping The Blue Alive versnelden Java’s beslissing, evenals plannen voor een tweede solo-album.

James was influenced by Robert Johnson, Kokomo Arnold and Tampa Red. He recorded several of Tampa Red's songs. He also inherited from Tampa Red's band two musicians who joined his own backing band, the Broomdusters, "Little" Johnny Jones (piano) and Odie Payne (drums). There is a dispute about whether Johnson or James wrote James's signature song, "Dust My Broom". In the late 1930s, James worked alongside Sonny Boy Williamson II.

BMG will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original movie Rim of the World. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander, Happy Death Day). Rim of the World is directed by McG and stars Jack Gore, Miya Cech, Benjamin Flores Jr., Alessio Scalzotto, King Bach (aka Andrew Bachelor), Tony Cavalero, Rudy Mancuso, Michael Beach, Jason Rogel, Lynn Collins and Annabeth Gish. The movie follows four teens with nothing in common as they are stranded at a summer camp when aliens attack the planet and embark on a perilous mission to save the world. The sci-fi adventure will premiere tomorrow exclusively on Netflix.

Sparks & Shadows will release a soundtrack album for the supernatural horror thriller Eli. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award winner Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Happy Death Day, Outlander). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 18 and will be available to download here. Eli is directed by Ciaran Foy and stars Charlie Shotwell, Lili Taylor, Kelly Reilly, Sadie Sink and Max Martini. The movie centers on an 11-year-old boy with a debilitating illness who checks into an isolated clinic to undergo experimental therapy. The Paramount Players production will be released tomorrow exclusively on Netflix.

Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for the Child’s Play reboot. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Happy Death Day, Outlander). The soundtrack will be released digitally on June 14, 2019 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Child’s Play is directed by Lars Klevberg and stars Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry, Gabriel Bateman, as well as Mark Hamill as the voice of Chucky. The movie based on the 1988 classic of the same title follows a single mother who gifts her son a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature. The horror film will be released in theaters nationwide on June 21 by Orion Pictures.
