Bellini’s bel canto masterpiece I Capuleti e i Montecchi, inspired by the tragic tale of Romeo and Juliet, is what The New York Times calls “an opera of definite dramatic appeal.” The cast is headlined by international stars Joyce DiDonato (winner of the Grammy and the ECHO Klassik) and Nicole Cabell as the ill-fated lovers Romeo and Giulietta.

Swedish hard rock band H.E.A.T made their album debut in 2008 yet didn't break into the mainstream until the following year, after a strong showing at the 2009 Melodifestivalen with the smash hit "1000 Miles." Founded in 2007 in Upplands Väsby, the band initially consisted of Kenny Leckremo (vocals), Dave Dalone (guitar), Eric Rivers (guitar), Jona Tee (keyboards), Jimmy Jay (bass), and Crash (drums). After signing a recording deal with the label StormVox, the band made its full-length debut in 2008 with the eponymous album H.E.A.T. The band's strong showing in Melodifestivalen drove H.E.A.T up the albums chart, all the way to the Top Ten with "1000 Miles" in the Top Five.

Drummer Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater, Liquid Tension Experiment) had a brainstorm that gave birth to the band Transatlantic. He envisioned a band of himself, Neal Morse (Spock's Beard), and Jim Matheos (Fates Warning). As it turned out, Morse was available, but Matheos was not. Morse came up with the idea of recruiting Roine Stolt (Flower Kings) instead, and all that was left was a bassist. Portnoy contacted Marillion's Pete Trewavas and the group was set. They recorded and released their first album, SMPTe, in 2000, working around everyone's main band obligations…

GAIN Music has announced the forthcoming release of Swedish rockers H.e.a.t‘s latest album, to be titled Into the Great Unknown. It will be the band’s 5th studio album and will be available from September 21, 2017.

The five works on the first disc are by two of the sons of J.S. Bach, and all are examples of what were known at the time as trios. Yet they are a diverse group, reflecting not only the distinct styles of their two composers by also the various types of sonatas written by them. The works on the second disc illuminate the crucial role played by C.P.E. Bach in the shift from the Baroque to the Rococo style and the tremendous artistic value of his work. On the faculty at Duke University, flutist Rebecca Troxler specializes in the music of J.S. Bach's sons and other Rococo composers and this repertoire shows off her warm tone, stylish phrasing and brilliant technique.

The title is quintessentially Stephen Malkmus – a conflation of two slang terms, one dating back to the hazed-out '60s, the other a vulgar remnant of modernity – and, as it happens, Wig Out at Jagbags also sounds quintessentially Malkmusian. It's elastic guitar rock constructed partially out of cannabis guitar jams and partially out of punk rock squalls, both sides distinguished by wry melodicism and dexterous wordplay, not to mention Malkmus' lingering tendency to hide his accessible inclinations under sheets of six-strings. On 2011's Mirror Traffic, producer Beck prevented the Jicks from taking detours, but here the band is producing on its own, assisted by Remko Schouten, so they're free to follow wherever their whims may take them.

Back in November of 1979, deeply respected saxophonist and arranger Tom Saviano as­sembled a group of outstanding musicians and vocalists to create an incredible jazz infused R&B/Pop debut album under the band name HEAT. At the time, Saviano had just come off of working extensively with Melissa Manchester as musical director on her tours as well as in the studio. But now his HEAT project was literally turning up the fire on his talents as a writer, producer, arranger and musician.
