Associated with Hawkwind from their inception, Robert Calvert made a significant contribution to the band, particularly on their 1973 live album "Space Ritual”, before leaving Hawkwind to write and record his classic debut solo album "Captain Lockheed & the Starfighters” in 1974. Buoyed by the critical success of the album he wrote his next solo work, "LUCKY LEIF & THE LONGSHIPS”. Calvert engaged BRIAN ENO to produce the album in 1975, calling on Hawkwind members SIMON HOUSE (violin), NIK TURNER (saxophone) and PAUL RUDOLPH (bass, rhythm & lead guitars) to assist with the making of the record. This Atomhenge reissue has been remastered from the original master tapes includes two rare bonus tracks (recorded in June 1974) and restores the original album artwork.

Recorded in 1974 for United Artists Records, the concept album featured classic songs such as ‘Ejection', ‘The Right Stuff' and ‘The Widowmaker' interwoven with humorous satirical dialogue from Calvert, Jim Capaldi & Viv Stanshall. The musical guests included Hawkwind, Arthur Brown and Brian Eno, making for a unique and legendary album.

In Search of Space is the second studio album from Hawkwind, released in 1971. It reached No. 18 on the UK album charts. In Search of Space strengthened Hawkwind's science fiction-type brand of progressive rock, gaining bass player Dave Anderson and galactic poet extraordinaire Rob Calvert, while losing John Harrison at the same time.
