One of the great lost treasures of australian 70’s music. Although Autumn began as a bubblegum band in the late-60’s, the early-70’s found them, after various line-up changes, a markedly different band. With lush harmonies, Beatlesque arrangements and a great batch of songs that ranged from breezy pop to progressive rock (as well as the the seven minute orchestral extravaganza: ‘Kill My World’), Comes… Autumn showed a mature and accomplished band that belied both their age and their beginnings. Features the singles ‘Falling’, and ‘Goblin’s Gamble’ plus 5 bonus tracks: including the rare final single ‘Just Couldn’t Believe It’, a spirited cover of The Beatles’ ‘Day Tripper’ and previously unreleased demos. Deluxe reissue is packaged in a 6 panel digi-pak. It has been remastered by Gil Matthews. Liner notes featuring quotes from a recent interview with lead singer Tony Romeril and a 24 page booklet filled with rare photos, posters.

There is no doubt that Pain of Salvation is one of the most unique and controversial bands in the progressive music genre. They have changed their sound with nearly every album they've released and have drawn both praise and anger for their ambitious lyrics and songwriting. Despite having gotten a preview of Road Salt One's sound with the release of the Linoleum EP in 2009, this effort still manages to be one of the biggest stylistic jumps in the band's twenty year career.
As many listeners have pointed out, this release makes use of a more basic band approach and shows a lot of influence from 1970s rock music. In this sense, it shows several similarities to the band's 1997 debut. But while that album was driven by funk influence, this album features a bluesy feel that is especially apparent on songs such as "Tell Me You Don't Know"…

The Vaselines broke up in 1989 just after the release of their only album, Dum Dum. The split was partly due to the members Eugene Kelly and Frances McKee splitting as a couple, partly down to not seeing a place for themselves in the music industry. Despite a brief reunion shortly after their demise to play a couple shows in support of Nirvana (Kurt Cobain was rather famously a huge fan of the band), the split seemed very final. Jump ahead almost 20 years to 1998 and a call from Sub Pop…

Considered by many music historians as one of the most important group out of Germany, Faust were certainly ahead of their time. They took their music to unsuspecting heights somewhere in between Can, Velvet Underground, Neu, LA Dusseldorf or Henry Cow but also much farther and can be considered as founding fathers of the Industrial Rock. Having made their debut in 71 in Hamburg, Faust will never stop their groundbreaking and will be always one step ahead of everybody else including the groups above mentioned and are the prime example of Rock In Opposition (RIO) along with Henry Cow. Faust is definitely not for the faint-hearted person and can only be recommended in small doses because it is very dangerous for the sanity of the average proghead.

The band released the follow up "Template for a Generation" in August 2009. At the end of 2009, Dec announced he was moving on from Darwin’s Radio to concentrate on a solo venture.
The result of this was his first release "Destroy All Monsters", a nine track album coming in at 45mins and a more pop take on the prog genre…

For Gustav Mahler's 150th birthday, EMI has assembled a 16-disc box set of his complete works, including not only the ten symphonies, Das Lied von der Erde, and the song cycles, but also the early cantata, Das klagende Lied, and the extant movement from the Piano Quartet in A minor, two works which arguably can be called Mahler rarities. Having all these pieces together in one large collection is undeniably a great convenience, and many will consider buying this set not only for that reason, but also for the historic nature of the recordings. The roster of conductors features such legends as Sir John Barbirolli, Otto Klemperer, Wilhelm Furtwängler, Bruno Walter, George Szell, and Jascha Horenstein, along with later Mahlerians, Klaus Tennstedt, Sir Simon Rattle, and Carlo Maria Giulini, all of whom left remarkable recordings that still are essential listening.

"From the first three decades of the twentieth century, the music here is so transfixing, intensely devotional and sublimely beautiful, that some contemporary listeners thought they were levitating. Drawn from recordings made in Istanbul by the Gramophone Company and HMV, amidst the ruins of the Ottoman Empire, To Scratch Your Heart crosses and mixes the folk and classical heritage of Turks, Greeks, Armenians and Gypsies, Muslims, Christians and Jews, urbanites and country-people, and the demands of tradition and modernity, musical improvisation, composition and system.
