Sicario: Day of the Soldado is the sequel to the globally successful film, Sicario, which earned composer, Johann Johannson an Oscar nomination for Best Score. “Soldado” is composed by Hildur Gudnadottir, a collaborator on the Sicario score, and a well-respected classically trained cello player who has recorded as a solo artist and collaborated with The Knife, Animal Collective, Hauschka, and Fever Ray. The film stars Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin.
Hildur Guðnadóttir has composed the music for the TV series Chernobyl, a co-production between HBO and Sky. Written by Craig Mazin, the five-part miniseries dramatizes the true story of one of the worst man-made catastrophes in history — the April 26, 1986 explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in then - Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic — and tells of the brave men and women who sacrificed to save Europe from unimaginable disaster. The project is currently in production, with a cast including Stellan Skarsgård, Emily Watson and Jared Harris. Hildur has recently composed music for feature film Sicario: Day Of The Soldado, scheduled for release in June 2018, and collaborated with the late Jóhann Jóhannsson on the score for Garth Davis’s Mary Magdalene. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for the Icelandic TV series Trapped. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Hildur Guðnadóttir (Sicario: Day of the Soldado, Joker, Mary Magdalene), Rutger Hoedemaekers and Johann Johannsson (Arrival, The Theory of Everything, Sicario). The RKV Studios production follows a troubled cop as he investigates murders in his small Icelandic town.
