Billboard Chart-Topper Jazz Artist U-Nam is back with a brand new album “Surface Level”. Los Angeles-based soul and jazz guitar man U-NAM (Emmanuel Abiteboul) is a busy old bee! He juggles all kinds of projects – one of which is his THE CALIFORNIA FUNK MACHINE – a soul/funk collective that features an ever-evolving raft of top musicians. The outfit have two albums to their name – imaginatively titled ‘California Funk Machine Volume 1’ and ‘California Funk Machine Volume 2’ and now, just in time for the Christmas party season, U-Nam and the gang are unleashing a third album – and guess what? Yep, it’s ‘California Funk Machine Volume 3’ Like their first two volumes this third iteration is a collection of soul and funk covers – some more well known than others.

This year he surprised the world with Volume I, a collection of selected pieces of funk history that brought it the greatest success and had a decisive impact on it. Volume 2 is is the logical continuation with new power hits.

The Past Builds The Future is the first album by U-Nam. Accomplished producer, composer and guitarist U-Nam is best known for his #1 hit “Street Life” on the US Billboard charts in 2007. But it isn’t just in Smooth Jazz that he has proven himself as a force to be reckoned with, he is also well-known as a respected songwriter and producer in France in the Pop and R&B genres having worked with artists such as Barry White, Kool & the Gang, Billy Paul, French Pop-Idol, MC Solaar and more. U-Nam has had the opportunity to perform in Russia, Dubai, Malaysia, and tour the US and Europe as part of major festivals.

2007 release from U-Nam, the French guitarist with a unique name and an acrobatic, soulful and sweet melodic style. Back From the 80's finely crafted music is firmly rooted in funky smooth Jazz but crossing into genres as excitingly diverse as R&B, Hip-Hop, Pop, Rock and Chill. This remarkable album offers fresh versions of classic and lesser-known gems from the `80's. But even more remarkable are U-Nam's brand-new songs inspired by his favorite songs from the decade. The CD gets a boost from the musical stylings of U-Nam's musical partner, Frank Sitbon, who co-wrote some tunes, played keyboards and sang background vocals.
